Anyone played this yet? My initial reaction was disappointment, but it's challenging enough to keep your interest for quite a while.

Basically, ignore the advertisements that make it look like a GTA-type game, because it really isn't when you get right down to it. There are some GTA elements, but the majority of the game plays a lot more like Dead to Rights.

Actually, what I like about the Getaway is that they took most of what I liked about Dead to Rights (the stealth stuff, hiding around walls, taking cover, etc) and left out what I hated about it (basically everything that made DtR a Max Payne clone).

The gameplay is so-so, especially poor is the aiming system. The detail of London is amazing though. I haven't had the opportunity to just drive around but from what I've seen they actually have the stores in the right place and the facade's completely correct. Really astonishing.

Yes, I was a bit let-down with the game at first, but the more I played it, the more I liked it. I hate not being able to skip cut scenes, and the game can get a bit repetitive at times, but the game is great once you get past the minor things.
