They want lots of players, yet have no money. What money they do have will be spent on retaining Messi.

  2. Nigel Lonwijk, the 18 yo defender who a year ago moved from PSV to Wolverhampton Wanderers, has attracted interest from several clubs, including from the Eredivisie.
If he returns to the Netherlands, he still can be properly prepared for a good career.

Erik ten Haag is reportedly sitting pretty high up on Spurs' head coach wish list. Not sure how much interest EtH has in Spurs... he was also in the running for Bayern Munich's opening (a much more attractive place to be!!) - but looks like that role is now for Julian Nagelsmann's to lose.

Well, I am for one hoping EtH to stick around at Ajax... his contract is up next year. Presumably by then the Oranje NT will have a vacancy and EtH will be ready for a new challenge... so he can slot right in :D He is one of the only two candidates that I found acceptable for Oranje NT boss. Bosz being the other... who is still available at the moment, but probably won't stay job-less for too long.

I think Tottenham is not a good place to be honestly. They are like Arsenal severely handicapped by their stadium now and their best players are bound to leave. Will be very hard to reach a top four spot really (with FFP dead).

Spurs are in the top three of the 'debt' parade. they have no money to spend and Kane is likely to leave.

    DutchFanatic repped this.

Ten Haag --> Spurs talk is intensifying after Spurs missed out on Julian Nagelsmann and Brendan Rogers. Very interesting... but probably not entirely surprising given the amount of business Ajax and Spurs have engaged in the past.

Who's the favorite to fill the vacancy at Ajax if EtH indeed leaves? Bosz?

Meanwhile, Van Bommel is talking with Wolfsburg.

Joey Veerman is a wanted kid. Atalanta is reportedly very interested.... they like hoarding Dutch players

I think Joey is better off staying for another couple years in Eredivisie. See if he can dominate and outgrow the league first. Perhaps a move to the "Big 4" - but I guess PSV and Feyenoord have no money. And Ajax is loaded in midfield (unless there's some surprise fireworks sale this summer?)

  8. He only dominates against non top teams in the Eredivisie, the teams that donot put pressure on you in the midfield. Against the top five he only once dominated against Ajax the last time. I forgot what midfield Ajax played that day, but one thing was obvious in that match. Ajax defense was horrible and saved by the Heerenveen forwards missing point blank chances created by Joey. So that could have attributed to the non-pressing of Ajax that day.
@Orange14 could tell more about it.
PSV seems to be interested, but not at the 12 million Heerenveen asks.
The point is what's his worth against European top teams that put pressure on you right on, not how he dominates against our more modest clubs. As long as he doesnot tackle that major flaw, he's not interesting for Ajax, PSV or even Feyenoord. Our top 4 need midfielders capable to face up against European quality teams, not against our modest clubs.

In the Ajax match, EtH switched things up and in the first half played Alvarez at CB and moved Rensch into the holding MF position. Rensch did not have a clue about what was going on and Gravenberch was just average on the day. Ajax were poor defensively on the day. Veerman needs to show himself against top flight competition as @feyenoordsoccerfan notes.

Wow, nice going EtH... using Spurs situation as a leverage, and signed a contract extension at Ajax (presumably with more $$) :D:D:p

  11. Wow.
Barcelona was counting on a free transfer of Wijnaldum to them.
However it seems PSG is going to put a stick into that wheel turning.
Pochettino is a years long admirer of Gino and the offer PSG has put on the table seems to be shockingly higher than Barcelona can afford.
So let's see if Gino choses feeling over hard cash.

  12. Wow, I just read that PSG is offering Gino 8 million€€ a year:eek:
That's double what Barca wants to pay him.
Given Koeman with alot of ifs and ughs got 1 season more, one can tell he will be sacked after his contract expires.
So Gino will be in a year's time in a spot where the coach he likes is gone and not knowing who will come and value him or sign a contract with a coach who adores him at double the Barca money.
    Boy ....such a difficult decision....:ROFLMAO:
Dumpsterfire Barca or guaranteed bank accout of PSG.

A letter from a Liverpool fan to Gino (use google translate if interested):

This letter and the PSG offer tell more than some opinions in here that look more like a hatemail than like a well thought out analysis.

  14. Klopp quote about him:

Wijnaldum to PSG. Hopefully it’s a done deal soon… I don’t really care where he goes, just need this to be over with. One less distraction going into the Euro :speechless::sneaky:

  16. Ajax is going after the 16 yo brother of Sepp vd Berg, Rav van den Berg.
He has the option to stay at PEC Zwolle with an improved contract or to move to Ajax.
If he paid any attention how Kik Pierie was treated by Ajax, he knows he's better off in the first team of PEC than in the YAjax team in the KKD league.

PSV are getting two ex-EPL veterans in Van Ginkel and Propper… watch for them to resurrect their careers miraculously, and push their ways into the Dutch NT, at the expense of the younger fellas like Gravenberch, Koopmeiners, Ihattaren, etc.

    ** sarcasm alert :cautious::p

Lolll this reminds me of the American forum talking shit about Dest being linked with Bayern. But let's not revisit that discussion again in their forum, lol. I still maintain if I could choose I would have Mazraoui over Dest. His play-making ability would be great for us. Mazraoui when you need a playmaking RB/RWB and Dumfries when you need pure power.

According to press reports Steven Berghuis may be leaving Feyenoord for either Ajax or PSV. It is said that he has a smallish €4M buyout clause in his current contract. Price is low but he is 29 years old.

Norwich City are also interested in Berghuis. I don't know if he would relish a move back to the Premier League where he didn't exactly set the world on fire. With Ajax or PSV he has the chance to win the league title again, and play squads in Europe that are easily spelled and located on a map.

  24. Liverpool and Borrussia are interested, according to German and British papers, in Malen.

Borrussia is quoted to have said the max they want to pay is €27 million.
Well, Liverpool it is then, as I from the UK press understood they want to pay 30 million British pounds.

  25. Sidney van Hooijdonk moves from 2nd tier NAC Breda to Serie A Bologna.

He jumps ship, before the coming destruction of NAC as a result of the lunatic fans of NAC.
I for a long time have real dislike of that club.
