Just because you really, really want to see certain players do amazing doesn't mean it'll happen. It's hard to do but you have to be objective. Dos Santos ran through everyone at the last U-17 WC and was the best player. If Manco had done the same in the 5 games he played then maybe we could say the same thing. But he didn't dominate. Ghana shut him down, he didn't do much against Costa Rica. He'll be a great player, no doubt, but I think the next Messis, Ronaldinhos don't just do well (like Manco), they blow everyone away. Manco simply didn't do that.

I like your optimism, but you have to understand the history of Peru's youth teams. We've always been bad. Really bad. The only player I can remember from the 2005 U-17 is Daniel Chavez and we all know how he's doing. The U-17 of Farfan's generation had freakin' Donny Neyra and Michael Guevara as starters. Starters on the 1998/1999 U-20 included Cesar Balbin, Pedro Ascoy and Ismael Alvarado. Pretty much, our youth teams have always had 2 or at most 3 players that became good, NT-worthy players. I'm saying this team can have 7 or 8 players of this caliber, which is a lot.

too much emphasis on Thriller Hermoza. He will be fine. La Torre no me convencio para nada. One of the weakest from the team. Avila es luchador y chinchoso en la cancha. But that can only get you so far. The rest of the starters have a good future.
Avila me parecio un jugador empeñoso y nada más. Parece q juega mejor sin presión, osea en amistosos. La Torre es bueno, la jugada donde hace el pase pal gol de Manco, muestra la calidad q tiene. Lo malo es q debe trabajar bastante la parte mental, xq se pierde mucho en los partidos, pero tiene potencia.
