lindsay tarpley, captain of the u-19 womens team, also currently playing with the full womens national team. yep, he used to post in the youth forums from time to time.
He's holding his finger up in a "one" for the first of many to come. From the description I saw of the goal, he went in one on one against the keeper, shot, then beat 3 defenders with the rebound and scored. We'll have to see it to know for sure, I guess.
One can only hope that he will have to grow many more fingers for future goal celebrations. If anyone can do it, Freddy can. Was there any TV coverage? If anyone has it on tape, it will be the BigSoccer equivalent of the Pam and Tommy video. Hope I get to see the highlights one way or another. I guess this is way people got their sports news back in the day, from play by play and recaps. Well, except without the internet.
