I should have somehow indicated I was smiling when I replied. His (hopeful) comedic timing was pretty spot on.
What more can you say about Christopher Nolan. The man is just a genius. Oppenheimer was fantastic👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾— FREDDY ADU (@FreddyAdu) July 23, 2023
And it will make it to year 20 as long as I have a say I STIĹL think he could kill it in Central America!!!
Adu had twenty times Ream's ability. Ream has twenty times Adu's character. Which is why Adu finished his career at 29 as a USL bit-part player having played just 9 Top 5 and 14 Liga Portugal games. Meanwhile, Ream has played just over 300 Championship games and is closing on his 100th EPL game.
I know people like to dunk on Adu, but he is better thought of as a cautionary tale for our young players.
He is best thought of as a cautionary tale in every walk of life for what can happen when teenagers are told by adults how wonderful they are before they are mature enough to appropriately process such praise.
The point of life is not being successful but being happy. I hope Freddy is happy. He just wanted to buy his mom a house.
' You sure? You point out Freddy to a young player, you're pointing a kid in the direction of a phenomenonally talented teenager who didn't put in even the minimum amount of effort and accumulated zero achievements as a player, but could still take early retirement as a millionaire. If he didn't or doesn't splash his money on really expensive stuff (supercars, major mansions, expensive divorce) and/or hire bad financial advisors, his only challenge over the next 30-40 years is finding something to do with his time
Just looked up his first NT goal. Not sure any current national team player could pull off that spin lol.
Hmm, his first NT goal was a free kick--do you mean his goal with the U17's? But either way, when you look at a highlight reel of his goals, you think you could be looking at Messi. Accurate long range shooting and free kicks with that magic left foot, quick release on his shots, precise anticipatory runs to get in front of defenders on quick crosses, even the two headed goals are Messi-esque. No other US player, to my eyes, has displayed such transcendent talent; he must have been a world class slacker not to have had a better career.

I miss following Freddy's career https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/19dp8bs/the_reporter_for_bein_sports_and_the_translator/
And Adu is a far better physically - more upper-body strength for starters - than Julian Green, but Green, who's 28, will start his 205th senior game (256th if you count RL Bayern games) this weekend for a promotion-chasing side and he could add a second BL2 champion's medal to a collection that includes 3 BL1 medals, 1 Pokal medal and a FIFA Club World Cup medal and an RL Bayern medal for good measure. Freddy, who retired aged only 28 and 194 senior games (221 if you include the USL games), has one MLS Cup medal and one Supporter's Shield medal. Like Ream, Green wanted to make a career in football. Adi just wanted to make bank. That's fine - it's his life and that was his choice - but let's not keep contextualizing on his behalf.
