It looks to me that Goodson has picked up some weight. He is still slim, but no longer Peter Crouch-like. Am I imagining things?

I had the same impression. He looks like he's thickened up some.

Berhalter didn't spent 4 years in MLS. (and one less year in college?)

And he is still freakishly athletic. They said he was deceptively strong even back when he was Crouch-esque.

I'm very eager to see where he ends up this winter. Even if Demerit signs in MLS, Goodson will probably overtake him based on the next club move.

Any speculation on where he could end up? How high is he aiming if he passed up on a backup role at Kaiserslautern?

Berhalter did play some time languishing in the Dutch second division and in the USISL. As much as Berhalter has played in the Eredivisie I think Goodson's MLS service kinda balances things out.

He's got three inches on him, too.

32 by the next WC? Hopefully he'll still be performing at a high level by then.

Freskishly athletic. At 32, he could still be the most athletic CB that Bob ends up taking to that World Cup. He'll be fine. Going to Denmark should fine-tune his tactical skills. He could be a leader in the back.

Brondby is a solid team. It's also a good stepping stone to even higher profile squads considering they almost always see European action. Goodson is also a good fit there. Brondby's central defense are well past their prime (von Schlebrügge and Nilsson are both over 32 years old) and their backup central defenders are all 22 years old or younger with little experience, which basically ensures Goodson will get considerable minutes.

The only thing wrong with his move is that he will be transferring in January and will be attending camp with his new team, effectively taking him off the "Camp Cupcake" roster. Although that's not a big deal.

this is fine for me. He'll likely be with the US in S.Africa, but for Camp Cupcake, i would much rather take a look at the likes of Ream, Gonzo, Cameron and perhaps Opara if he's healed up yet (havent paid much attention since he broke his foot).
