I am am air fryer apostle ... It Is great for home and it doesn't consume much energy... You can do great stuff with them...

But as a replacement for grilling with charcoal or smoked BBQ?

Now I'm thinking about looking into it.

Big fan of the Instant-pot. I use it every week to make my own yogurt, and right now I'm pressure cooking my breakfast cereal for the next week (whole oats, whole barley, whole rye, and sorghum). Came in handy for making our St. Patrick's Day Week corned beef, too (luckily we have a spare O-ring, so my next few batches of yogurt and oats+ didn't smell like corned beef).

I love grilling when it's snowing. And I don't mind grilling in the rain, either.

Air fryers cook food alright, but there are some downsides. They take up a lot of space in the kitchen, they are noisy, and they are hard to clean. And if you get the wrong brand, they can cause serious injury.

Yeah, we have a regular convection oven that works pretty well to get things crispy. When my son and his family were living with us, they got an air fryer because sometimes you just want to heat 3 chicken nuggets for the kid. They do work, and they are probably safe if you don't get the brand that was recalled. I would say the difficulty cleaning it is the biggest drawback.

My mum got one for this reason. Now she wasn't cooking for a whole family she just couldn't be bothered dealing with the big oven so she has a little bench top thing.

I hate it but i see why she did it.

Growing up in California I assumed it was normal for it to not rain in the summer. First time we visited relatives back east my mind was blown.

Growing up in London and Seattle I assumed it was normal to have grey skies most of the time. When I moved to Wyoming for uni I was shocked that they lived without a cloudy roof most of the year.

I grew up in Northern California, so I assumed it was normal for the ocean to be cold year round. The first time I went to the beach in New York I was surprised that the water was warm enough that you could stay in as long as you wanted.
