Italy - Turkey. No Hasan Sas, Hakan Sukur, Zola, or Buffon but still watchable. EDIT - maybe not so watchable. It's like a 90 minute powerplay for Italy.
The "Multi-view" for Euro 2020(1) on ESPN+ sucks so much. They have a friggin' static camera on the field from a very weird angle (apparently above the goalie). Worse angle than Forward Madison's game the other day. THEN two static cameras on the managers. Who gives a rat's ass about what the manager is doing? Of course, they should just label this camera the "Joachim Löw Ball Sniffing Camera" and be done with it.
This is a screen shot from "Multi view" on ESPN+ from the Italy game. That camera angle is atrocious. It is an embarrassment.
I like Chris Coleman. He was a good manager at Fulham, back when Carlos Bocanegra and Brian McBride (and, of course, future Chicago Fire "LEGEND" Collins John) were playing there.
Had to turn off the Finland vs Denmark game. Can't watch them give Erikson CPR. Abandon the game already.
Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET. The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.— UEFA (@UEFA) June 12, 2021 In the hospital and stablised is good to hear.
Eriksen was rushed to what is known as the Kingdom Hospital and according to the Danish FA he is now alive and awake. As for the match itself , there is right now a crisis meeting between the two teams and the referee, so we will see what kind of agreement they come up with, because it would seem that UEFA are leaving it up to the two teams/countries to decide what is going to happen.
It's tough, as the teams play on Thursday. About the only time they could reschedule would be tomorrow/Tuesday, unless the entire schedule is upended. There are three possibilities, as I see it. 1. Replay the entire game asap. 2. Resume the game tomorrow, but play only the second half. 3. Issue each team 1 point, since it was tied at what was essentially half time. According to UEFA, it looks like scenario 2 is most likely: If a match cannot start or cannot be played in full, it is, as a rule, played or completed on the next day, if possible at the same venue. A match that was abandoned is continued from the minute at which it was interrupted (with the same scoreline, and with the ball in the same spot). Teams are allowed to change players for the rescheduled or resumed game (from those within their finals squad) with these exceptions: Players suspended for, or sent off or substituted during, the original game cannot take part. A team that had one or more players sent off will remain down to ten or fewer players.* Teams can make only the number of substitutions to which they were still entitled when the match was abandoned. Yellow cards from the game remain valid on resumption. *If there are fewer than seven players on either of the teams, the match is not played or is abandoned. https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/...b7ed8458-1000--euro-rules-you-might-not-know/ See Articles 28 and 29: Regulations of the UEFA European Football Championship Also Article 24 states teams must have two full days of rest, so tomorrow is the only possibility. https://documents.uefa.com/v/u/WVKcnryVkASzztwJjPBcIw
Following the request made by players of both teams, UEFA has agreed to restart the match between Denmark and Finland tonight at 20:30 CET (TBC). The last four minutes of the first half will be played, there will then be a 5-minute half-time break followed by the second half.— UEFA (@UEFA) June 12, 2021
German tv has sources with the Danish team stating that Eriksen facetimed(!) not only spoke with the team when they were in in the locker room calling on them to continue playing
Game restarted. Shocking, but makes the most sense...even if the Danish players are not in sync at the moment. Finland scores.
We know that Low's next career will be Mod on BS. Felt bad for Denmark in losing to Finland, but who could have expected anything else today?
Not only do the Fire suuuuuck but so does the Polish National Team. That was a pretty dire performance today. Quite disappointing
