And the Nazis score. Parma deserves to be relegated today if the don't even manage a draw.

EPL (Did you know it sucks? No? Well it does)

    Arsenal / Wolves.

Going to have it on as background noise while I play games. I expect a bloodbath

Atalanta beating Cagliari 30 minutes in.

  5. Still scoreless approaching halftime & Wolves with the only shot on goal. Go figure. Oh yeah, the EPL sucks.

Didn't Atalanta upset someone in the Champions League this past week?

It sucks so much that I can't even predict what the likely outcome should be so far. Arsenal have looked crazy good this year but are struggling to create anything in the first 43 minutes. Go figure.

  8. I've been in louder libraries. I think the Palermo game yesterday was better and honestly, it was dire.

Crazy ending to that one, poor Wolves.

Great ending to this one. Took almost the entirety of regulation to open up a bit though.

EPL which sucks: Sunderland / Newcastle.

  14. Derby games resuming after a long pause are always fun. Remember Newcastle United are a massive club . . . . . . . . . . . in Newcastle.

It's behind an exorbitant paywall so I'm following reports from Kicker & Transfermarkt,. Koutsias joins Behrens in a 2 striker formation against bogey team Servette. MCT is working the random formation generator trying to get some goals out of his side.

Side note: For the first time I can recall, aside from Zanotti (an 8 figure rated fullback), I don't see a single player on this Lugano side who could start for the Fire.

  16. Germany striker Nick Woltemade powers a header off the bottom of the bar into the goal. Unfortunately, it was his own goal. Sunderland 1 - Newcastle 0 early in the second half.

Just before the half Newcastle hard man Dan Burn was forced off with a possible broken rib.

Woltemade is one odd looking human being. Very German in a less than complimentary way.
A combination of Rudi Voller and a baby giraffe

  18. I think of Tom Hughes portrayal of Prince Albert in the Victoria series. Here is the actor & a portrait of the actual Albert. Very, VERY German.

Lugano up 3-1 just before the half.

I know TV rights can be tricky, especially internationally, but I wish the club would have some opportunities to watch the Lugano games for us fans that want to follow former players or just see what our sister team is up to. Lugano seems like a really interesting team and club to follow and from what I can tell, there’s no “legal” way to watch today’s game.

  20. Legal way, yes. Reasonably priced, no. The league put the games behind an expensive paywall.

    In about 20 minutes...

    Serie A: Genoa / Inter.

  22. Even though the 2 strikers haven't even been mentioned in the commentaries, Lugano goes up 4-1 on CB Papadopolous' second today. Rumors of the ex-BVB man leaving for Besiktas, or Panathinakos in the coming window.

I couldn’t even find that, but probably for the better- I spend enough on Serie B that I don’t need another league’s streaming feed coming out of my bank account. It’d be nice if there was the occasional watch party or something at the Fire Pitch- our ‘sister club’ feels like it is more a way around MLS salary rules or to dump players we don’t need. Even Palermo, now owned by the evil empire of City Football Group, got a preseason friendly with Man City. Maybe when we switch calendars that will be something we can do with Lugano- it’d be fun to have the games switch countries every year from here to Switzerland.

Jordan Henderson scored his first for Brentford on his 600th match in English football (mostly with Liverpool, of course).

Brentford leading Leeds late the match in the EPL (which sucks).
