Years ago I almost pulled the trigger on this bit of fruit salad and have regretted it ever since. Below is the one jersey purchase pass I regret the most. There were some damn fine shirts in the late 90's/early oughts.
Workmanlike performance from Roma beating a team they should beat. Like bottom shelf booze there's better to be had but it gets the job done. The wife (who I've noted twice before today) has been paying more attention to the games. She was intrigued by the ball from Roma's second goal getting put in a bag. That kind of flew by me so my first thought was the ball wasn't inflated properly. A subsequent VAR check revealed they have a contest to win game scored balls. This enhances my viewing experience not one whit, but it seems to be roping in the casuals. On to Menards to buy items I didn't know I needed.
Anglicizes that catch on and are really ********ing stupid: 1) Brave. 2) Asking questions. 3) Standing on the ball is somehow a signal of dominance and strength. The EPL sucks.
Also, scary fast for carrying that much muscle mass, but has never quite been able to translate it to effectiveness in front of goal. But the man IS a specimen.
Anglicism. That’s the one when the announcer is a homer for one team. Their team “just abouts” while the team they know nothing about missed, or weren’t brave enough, or needs to ask more questions, or whatever.
Watching Cincinnati v. Orlando which is 0-0 in the 28th. With the Fire holding 9th place (48 pts) and Orlando holding 7th (52 pts) I am hoping Cincinnati can put Orlando down setting up the Fire to maybe leapfrog Columbus (50pts) should they win against Miami Tuesday and be sitting a point behind Orlando with a few games to play.
0-0 at the half. Cincinnati with 55% possession but Orlando has more shots (11 v 4) although only 2 on target so neither team has really looked dangerous although Cincinnati won the eye test to me. EDIT: I correct my previous post because the MLS website says Orlando is only sitting on 51 points, not 52.
They sure did. The whole match was disjointed and not a great watch for a neutral. Neither team really impressed me compared to where the Fire have been the last few weeks. I thought Cinci was going to get their 3 but ultimately they share a point.
That Orlando goal stings a bit, as it changed our run at 7th from 'hard but possible' to 'long shot'...
Agree however the draw at least is better than them outright winning. I would prefer to avoid that wild card play in game. It's only 90 minutes and a lot can go wrong.
Champions League. Bayern against Pafos FC from Kolossi, Cyprus. Playing at the wonderfully named Alphamega* Stadium on Cyprus. A training session for the German giants. *Named after the second largest grocery store chain in Cyprus, called Alphamega Hypermarkets. Thanks, Wikipedia!
The Open Cup Final and the Copa Campeones (even more plastic than Leagues Cup) probably bumped the Fire's make up game to a Tuesday.
US finishing kick blows away France 3-0 to advance to the round of 16 in the U-20 World Cup. USA 85’ Zavier Gozo 88’ Brooklyn Raines 90+2’ Marcos Zambrano
On Thursday I watched Roma get a PK. Shot saved, but called back for encroachment. Second shot saved, but also called back for encroachment. Third shot saved. Today, Christian Pulisic just skied a PK over the crossbar.
