Agreed and Agreed. It has not been a terrible US performance, from what I have seen. It's on in the background while I catch up on emails. The pushing and shoving has to stop. The US players need to quit taking the bait every single time.
No surprise this game was ugly on the customary awful field in The Office. Other than the penalty and that patch in the middle of the second half Jamaica didn't look too interested. The US did what they had to do.
Aubrey Kingsbury saves all three penalties for Washington Spirit! I don't know if I have ever seen that. Spirit go through 1-1 (3-0 in penalties). I guess there might be some skill in both taking and defending penalties afterall.
Well I guess I'm in for the USMNT v Jamaica leg 2. I *may* (probably) got the time wrong in the news as I think it's 6:30 CST kick off. Well at least that's when the coverage starts. Tonight's #USMNT starting XI to take on Jamaica 🇺🇸Lineup Notes ⤵️— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) November 19, 2024 2.8 - The #USMNT has averaged 2.8 goals per match in 12 all-time matches in St. Louis, the highest in any city the team has played in 10 or more times. Triple G sighting on the tele in St. Louis...and 2-0 USA! Pulisic brace. EDIT: Hopefully GGG is there to recruit for the Fire?
Weah with another lovely goal for USA. 3-1 after a run of Jamaica pressure after halftime. This is highlight reel stuff.
EPL (which sucks) back in action. Aston Villa v. Crystal Palace. Tielemans for Aston Villa has a chance to pad his stats with a penalty. Since there is no skill involved, he scored, of course. Wait? What? Henderson saved the penalty? Crystal Palace score 57 seconds later. 2-1 Palace going into the second half. I suppose it doesn't matter since penalties don't count "as much" as real goals. Edit: 68th minute and Jhon Duran is coming into the match.
Man City v. Tottenham in the EPL (which sucks) Can both teams lose, please? Short of that, a Tottenham win would be nice. Man City losing is always the best option. Screw those cheating, cheating bastards. Screw Pep and his new contract. I hope they get relegated after being found liable on the 150 or charges against them. They won't, of course. Edit: Tottenham up 1-0 in the 17th minute. Edit (II): Tottenham up 2-0 in the 20th minute. Go Spurs (Likely the first and last time I post that).
Tottenham are up 3-0. Manchester City losing by 3 at home is pretty unheard of over the past 10-15 years. Tottenham have been outplaying Manchester City in all aspects of the match. The Tottenham away fans are singing of Pep: "You're getting sacked in the morning" [after he signed his new contract the other day] The announcers mentioned that Man City are unbeaten in their last 52 matches at home. I fully expect the match to end 3-3, with a 96th minute tying goal by the assholes in light blue. Edit: 15 minutes left and De Bruyne and Grealish into the match. Two pretty good subs for the cheaters from Manchester.
Amazingly, the final score is 4-0 to Tottenham. Interview with Pep who had absolutely nothing to add. Worst home defeat in Pep's management career.
