More than I thought there would be at Wrigley in attendance. Last time I watched soccer there it was the Sting as a wee little lad. Also watched the Sting at Comisky. I feel so God damn old now.
My only comment on USA performance was that I had to check two times to make sure I was not watching a Fire replay!
Red Stars getting absolutely demolished in the midfield. 1-0 Bay on a clinical strike from outside the 18.
Forget about the poor midfield play, they can't get out of their defensive third in the last ten minutes.
Good lord is Hocking a god damn ball hog. Teammate making a great run into space? Hold on to it and try and run through four defenders instead.
2-0 Bay. Horrid horrid defending. Bay should have 3 or 4 actually. At least the attendance set a new NWSL record. 82nd minute and counting...
No one else in the house wanted to go. Just as well I watched it on TV. It's tough these days to get me to go into the city for anything but Fire games. I know, why Fire games?
Red Stars got worked in the first half, looked better in the second, but not a great performance overall
The moment was too much for them, but there's grumblings on the Red Stars Discord about Donaldson's tactics.
US vs. Japan Olympic Team (U-23) friendly tonight Tuesday, 7:00 on NBC Universo and I imagine Peacock.
Tough call on the handball. The PK taker came to a full stop and maybe even backed up a bit but, as Jiggs said,"It's a friendly."
