Final day in the EPL (which sucks, of course). Come on, West Ham. Play spoiler against Man City. Grab a point or, better yet, steal a win against the bastards from the blue side of Manchester. Come on, Arsenal (I need another shower after writing that), win today. Klopp choking up as the Liverpool faithful serenade him. Too bad he's leaving and not with another title win.
St. Pauli come from behind to defeat Wehen Wiesbaden 2-1 and win the 2. Bundesliga title over fellow promoted side Holstein Kiel, who also won on the day.
In their two seasons as professionals Lugano women earn their second straight promotion. 🍾 Emozioni da LNB 🥰Ecco le nostre ragazze dopo la promozione in Lega Nazionale B 🙌🏼!#fclugano #fcl #LuganoFemminile #PrimaLega pic.twitter.com/XrZwZP2F58— FC Lugano (@FCLugano1908) May 19, 2024
Lugano lost to Zurich 2-1 today, but still reached the Champions League qualification round due to Servette's 1-0 loss to champion Young Boys. Lugano visits Servette on the last day of the league season, then plays them in the Swiss Cup final to close out the season. Already there is talk of Bologna interest in Mattia Croci-Torti if Thiago Silva moves to Juventus (as expected). Top Lugano center back Albian Hajdari is also linked to Bologna.
Watching Palermo v. Venezia in the first leg of their Serie B playoff tilt. I hate playoffs, but if it gets the rosanero to Serie A I’ll make an exception.
That was a great overall performance by Atalanta. Gasperini gets his due and I’m not surprised Napoli are potentially looking at him as a replacement head coach.

Patting myself on the back for this one after Fortuna Dusseldorf .wins 3-0 on the road in the first leg of the 1. BL relegation playoff. Fortuna should be favored in the playoff. They have been as good as anyone in the top 2 divisions (save Bayer) since the Hinrunde started.— Trancendental Willy (@SkywayWilly) May 19, 2024
Not sure where this should go but it’s about Atalanta and their journey to the Europa League Final: Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta stun the football world! The game's biggest overachievers dismantle supposedly unbeatable Bayer Leverkusen to finally claim the trophy they so richly deserved No coach in the modern era has achieved bigger things with such a small club for as long as the 66-year-old https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/gi...beatable-bayer-leverkusen/blt6d7252d881ff8cee
