I bet he gets the whole year. If we wooden spoon, probably out at year's end. If we repeat last year, with a by-hook-or-crook playoff berth and a first round one-and-done, it will be hailed as a success. Anything more, and young James will be puff-pieced down our gullets as the second visage of the Christ Child.
Might as well update this. Curtin has now earned 108 points in 89 matches. Year: W - L - T (PPG) - GF/GA 2014: 7 - 5 - 6 (1.5) - 29/24 2015: 10 - 17 - 7 (1.09) - 42/55 2016: 11 - 14 - 9 (1.24) - 52/55 2017: 0 - 1 - 2 (0.67) - 3/4 Total: 28 - 37 - 24 (1.21) - 126/138 John Hackworth earned 89 points in 73 games: 23 - 30 - 20 (1.22) Peter Nowak earned 87 points in 75 matches: 21-30-24 (1.16)
it's me I was wondering if after all these years you'd learn how to manage To go over everything They say that time's supposed to improve your tactical knowledge But you ain't done much learning
They're cheap so he rides out his contract and they promote Sorber or Albright at the end of the year.
Curtin out. Wenger in. Arsene or Andrew I don't care which. The Dookie isn't playing much, he might just be available.
Another winless month. Only three games in and it's easy to see this season slipping away. Team is boring to watch. Curtin gets canned around the Gold Cup, one of the assistants temporarily takes over. FO knows they can't get away with appointing from within again. "World-wide" search ends up with... some assistant from another team @Handsome Pete starts a "FIRE (new shitty coach)" thread in early 2018.
Fixed it for you. We all know what the result of a "global coaching search" will be. All of our managers have been promoted internally post Nowak which makes it much less surprising that we've seen more of the same terrible tactics and decision making over the 7 years...no new ideas from outside the organization.
Why is getting called into the USMNT & playing for the Union a curse? Pontius & Rosenberry seem to have had a drop in form. Bedoya hasn't made an impact since joining the team. Jack Mac can't even start for a MLS team. And Edu since joining the team to improve his chances played one year out of position and has been injured since. Won't even talk about Freddy. Cursed?
/r/phillyunion at its finest: "This week we would be having an entirely different conversation if Ilshinos shot is a quarter inch to the right or Bedoya heads that shot in. Curtin made appropriate subs and our formation has nothing to do with their performance. If a dozen other clubs can use this formation and dominate why cant we? Not because of coaching but because of underperforming players." https://www.reddit.com/r/PhillyUnio...ave_not_won_a_game_since_august_27th/df4w0u1/
I wonder how bad it needs to get for the Reddit Positive Patrol to turn on the team. Or any part of the team.
We would kill for that kind of record... Sad! I guess big market clubs like SLC just can't deal with that level of mediocrity.
I've been fighting the Positive Patrol over there for like three years. It's not an easy job, but it's a fun one. After the Toronto match, I called out Bedoya and Pontius which people gave me crap for. Things are a little different this week. I try to be the Rain Man of Negativity...
Let's leave the reddit discussions on reddit, shall we? I'm a culprit of this, but it's not fair to them (nor us) to pull comments/quotes from that site to this one.
The Vancouver game was boring but got what was required. The TFC game was two points lost. The OC game was a dumpster fire. When was our last win, August?
Bedoya had to make that penalty. It's all well and good that he apologized to the team, but we aren't good enough to miss out on those points.
