Well, the better team won, but the USMNT looked pretty good.

Now, the USWNT taking on Brazil in Brazil.

 

And the women take the lead 1-0 in the second minute,

So what? There was a corner kick and it lead to the ball popping out Robinson in, as I said at the time (and the announcer said a minute or so later), in a position that everyone who has ever played the game dreams of happening.

How the corner kick happened is irrelevant to the goal. It could have been anything that lead to a corner kick.

If the game lacked highlights such that there is an analysis of what lead to a corner kick, that speaks volumes of how mediocre the USMNT are and does not bode well for the World Cup.

 

I wish him well, and it is really time for him to prioritize his long term health and retire from the sport that is literally killing him.

At 33-34, he has decades left to coach, be an analyst or just live a decent life. His health issues are just too much of a risk. Sure, it is hard to give up, after fighting to get back, but enough is enough.

 

He managed to kick a ball off of a defender. What a "contribution" for the best player of his generation!

Well, if he can "earn" a corner kick in a completely meaningless friendly, he should be made Captain for Life (just like John Barnes).

What I am saying is that the analysis in the video is silly. It was a corner kick.

Six players over 6.5 when they lost, managed to score a single goal and, but for a very wet pitch, would have been down 2-0 within 15 minutes, seems a bit high.

That said, if, as has been discussed around here, "6" or "7" is the regular starting point for these silly ratings, then having five players under 6.5 and two players (including the greatest American player of his generation and the guy who actually earned a corner kick) under 6 sounds about right.

The entire Brazil staff has been red carded. Yet, for a good five minutes,the coach kept coaching and talking to Marta.

Now, a Brazilian player is red carded for just strong arming and American player off the ball. She steadfastly refused to leave the pitch for a good minute or two.

Brazil's physicality completely pounding on the US players. Basically brutality.

Brazil cheating their asses off, as well. A clear throw in for the US, but Brazil just took it anyway. Fortunately, they did get away with that one.

9th minute of extra time and another red card to Brazil for a stiff shot on Sophia Wilson.

Yellow fir Marta.

At least 9 yellow cards.

This is embarrassing for Brazil.
