What is the "Defense" that people are constantly harping about these days? "Defense? We don't need no stinkin' defense!"
Yeah I got wrangled into the Wrexham v Middlesborough game to see if Wrexham can squeak into the playoffs for promotion (6th in the table). Why not? My wife resubscribed to Paramount because I was crying like a little girl trying to get the Open Cup feed Wednesday so I'd shut up. It worked.
West Ham lost bad this morning v. Brentford in the EPL (which sucks). A Tottenham win this weekend and West Ham are back in the relegation zone.
Double header for MLS Fox. KC and Seattle drew RSL hosting Portland right now. Dish Network just settled with Grey Media, so the local CBS, Fox and CW affiliates are back on the Dish Network. Also a triple header for NWSL on Ion. Denver hosts San Diego on now Then NC Courage host KS Current (Now, it is Orlando hosting Washington, no idea why that match is on and not the NC KS match). Finally, Angel City FC host Utah Royals Glad I am not feeling well today. Gives me a reason to not do anything and watch soccer, even though I have ton of things to do.
And there is a third cable MLS Match today. Inter Messi CF host Orlando City on Fox Sports 1 at 6:00 pm
Watched St. Pauli lose to Mainz. Mainz assured BL futbol next season. St. Pauli likely looking at a last day showdown with Wolfsburg in two weeks to decide who gets the playoff spot & who gets the drop. Heidenheim also could get to the playoff. A Wolfsburg defeat in the afternoon match against Freiburg almost assures survival for all but today's bottom 3 with 2 matches left. Osnabrück is up 2-1 on Wehen Wiesbaden late in the second half. A victory will win them the 3. BL and automatic promotion to the 2. BL In die Schweiz Lugano & Young Boys are scoreless in the second half. A Lugano win will tie them on points with St. Gallen for second place and 7 ahead of Basel for a European spot with 3 games remaining.
Decent match in the EPL (which sucks) between Manchester United and Liverpool. First half was all Man U, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. Liverpool grab two back in the first 10 minutes of so of the second half. Liverpool playing without Mo Salah, Ekitike and Alison Now a tight battle to guarantee Champions League next year. Man U win, it is guaranteed for them. Liverpool win and they tie Man U in third (both points and GD) Probably guarantees it for both teams. And, just as I type that, Manchester United score out of nowhere to take the lead with about 15 minutes remaining.
An 84th minute goal from Steffen takes all the points for Lugano. Second place in Switzerland earns a Champions League play in spot, but Lugano will have to top St. Gallen on points due to goal differential. For the first time in the Mansueto era Lugano will be able to play European home games in their own brand new stadium.
Chicago RED Stars hosting Portland live on ESPN2 right now. The location of the new stadium right on Lake Michigan is nice, but the stadium itself looks awful.
Sadly, Tottenham are beating Aston Villa as the second half kicks off their EPL (which sucks) tilt. A Tottenham win drops West Ham into the Relegation Zone.
