Ching probably feels bad, but there is no way he would have been effective in this tournament, especially against Ghana. He would have never touched the ball because they were simply too fast.

Easily the biggest disappointment of the tournament. Wasn't good enough to start for RSL before the WC and wasted approximately 140 minutes of game time that could have had Dempsey or Gomez playing striker. :(

It's funny how we were amazed that Findley was on the 30-man provisional roster. Then we were shocked that Findley made it onto the 23-man final roster. Then were flabbergasted that Findley started vs. England. Then we were ...I'm out of adjectives...

I don't blame him, I blame Bradley. We all knew what Findley had brought to the WC, it was bradley who was stretching his skills.

Findley is probably done with the WC, even though he will get national time still. He is all speed and no skill. He is a forward that will disapear without anyone knowing.

i feel kind of bad for him. it's not that he didn't do his best when he was out there...just he doesn't have the skill for the international level.

you might as well go out there and talk about how effective herculez gomez is at a lone forward when your strategy is to play the long ball too.

he was completely useless every minute he was in. i wish we had gone with 5 midfielders and jozy as the lone forward.

    Findley stats from FIFA.com:

    169 minutes
    0 goals scored
    1 shot (on goal)
    2 offsides
    2 yellow cards
    2 fouls suffered
    2 fouls committed
39 attempted passes, 19 completed; 49% pass completion rate
    1 cross; 0% completion rate

Passing % was average among the forwards. Findley took a lot less shots though, just 1 to Buddle's 2 in 39 minutes, Gomez's 4 in 85 minutes, and Altidore's 8 in 359 minutes.

I thought Findley was really good against England. Other than that he was terrible.

I agree. People need to stop railing against the guy as if it's personal. It's not his fault we don't have better strikers.

But he is fast. So what if he has a horrible first touch, can't cross, and couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. He's fast. Isn't that the only thing that matters?

His one opportunity alone on goal today will haunt him. You gotta finish that.

I now have solved one of the great mysteries of the West:

"What was the most worthless thing Geraldo Rivera found in Al Capone's Vault? Robbie Findley"

C'mon guys... what happened to a bunch of you being really excited about Findley's ability to chase and stretch defenses? How'd that work out for you?

I guess you never figured having him out there meant there'd probably be a crucial time in a game where he might actually have to score a goal? You know.. 90% of what a strikers job is anyways? Good thing we never played Buddle... the one forward who actually had scored from the run of play right before the tournament.

It's cool though... we like our speed option on the Nats.

Findley is player for more defensive reason, Findley never scored for USNT, yet Bradley start Findley very important game.

I warned everyone about this, i saw this coming a mile away. When one slips through the cracks and makes it to the 23 that doesnt deserve it, he tends to see the field, and he tends to bite us in the ass. This was an error of Al Davis proportions, and will always be looked at as the hallmark example that you bring the Best Player Available, and not taking players on need. Findley didnt belong with this squad, plain and simple
