He just dripped with bitterness for a while. Looking back, he did himself more of an injustice than he did anybody else.

I think the answer is no, but I like the thought behind the potential :ROFLMAO:, we’ll see tonight probably.

Not sure where to post this. Nico got his first start after some good performances off the bench. He looks like he is well on his way at Como.

I think he has no future at a club stacked in midfield with players in his age.

Yeah, agreed. I think he's very talented, but he seems like a player with the ambition to, at a fairly early point in his career, earn a starting spot at a big club. Like you said, our squad is just too stacked in midfield, so can't see him coming back and get the role he desires. He saw the squad, made the necessary thought process, saw that it would be very difficult, and then bet on himself and left. That's admirable!

Nico's deal includes a right of first refusal to re-sign him and buy-back clauses through to 2027, with the fee gradually increasing per year.

Modric will be retired soon and I do not think Ceballos makes it that far.
So you got... Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni.

Then we have the club penciling in Tchouameni as a backup CB, which tells me they may see him as a CB/DM.

I think there is a potential spot for Nico as a backup midfielder down the line. But it will depend if he progress into more of a CM. And we also have a ? around Guler and whether he transitions into a CM.

It is early but I am not writing off Nico yet. The club seems quite adamant about maintaining control over Nico's long-term future. He could follow a similar trajectory to Brahim back to the club.

I’d rather be a back up dancer at Real Madrid than start for Lake Como, but that’s just me.

He's not at Como to stay there. He's on the shop window.

Nico is at Como to get 1st team football. He came off the bench early for 2 games and did well, and then got a start where he played 90 minutes and put together a good overall game.

If you go to a top club and never play at this age, it is counterproductive. So far his stint is going very well and as planned.

    That’s why depth is important.
    But we never realise this.

So frustrating.. our players are getting injured one by one and the season just started..

If it takes him 3 months to heal he will need another 2 to get back into shape, such a shame.

    I'm so ********ing annoyed.

    3 months!!! Damn!!!

I miss Hazard. The burger boy hogged all the injuries at the club.

The club took a massive gamble with our overall depth and so far it ain't looking good.

Other than the CB position, I actually am fine with the squad depth.

No one would have forseen this amount of injuries. And the season had just started!

We are a midfielder short after Kroos left and it is known that Ceballos is injury prone. Modric is almost 40.

Just like other teams, we will suffer from abnormal injury rates this season. Massive number of games, minimal winter break with FIFA/UEFA games slotted in between, all this was preceded by Euros and CA + Olympics so many players didn't get to rest much over the summer.

I think the plan was to play Arda as a midfielder at times. So midfield is actually pretty ok.

While we lose Diaz, we'll recover Jude and Tchouemeni for next game.

Camavinga comes back end of September.

While we're unlucky with injuries we're getting lucky in games and getting 3 points so not the end of the world.

Plus those travelling from South America recently will be more rested for the next game.

Agreed, as i noted in another post what are we supposed to do, have 10 players for each position.......just in case, first it's, players only getting garbage mins, then it's, where's the rest of the players we need more, can't be both
