🚨 JUST IN: Niclas Füllkrug and Antonio Rüdiger had a heated altercation in training today. After a strong tackle, Füllkrug lied on the ground, cursing at Rüdiger & shouting angrily. He then stood up, walked to Rüdiger and both players pushed each other. @BILD pic.twitter.com/VLHXKaWUEW— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) June 10, 2024
The earlier rumored numbers make it appealing but the current talk of 20 M for the entire tournament is a joke. If they want this to be a serious Club World Cup, there has to be serious financial compensation for teams progressing deep into the tournament.
Considering where Rüdiger grew up and where Füllkrug comes from, i know he doesn't want those problems. You get guys that defend hard in training sessions, but if you want to step up to somebody you have to know who you're stepping up to.
🗣 Joselu: "I'm going to tell you something. [Carvajal] spent the whole year 'crying' because he had never won a MOTM award in the Champions League. I got one against Union Berlin and he said to me: 'Wow bro this award is so beautiful and I don't have one.' He was so annoying, I… pic.twitter.com/3IsFREHZYV— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) June 11, 2024
I spent a week where Rüdiger grew up and I experienced a shooting (woke up to gunfire in the middle of the night) and a stabbing (at the subway station). The people were honestly refreshingly unfiltered and kind in an honest way. Fuhlkrug is your typical small town guy, played for his father's team etc. There's nothing wrong about that but the differences are huge. The Boateng brothers are from a rough place too. I've got a ton of respect for Rüdigers discipline because I know he didn't have it easy. I also watched an interview where he said there's no place like home. He goes back there every off season. I really like him a lot on a human level.
All three are staying. The sources on these renewals have been The Athletic and other credible outlets, not the clickbait journos.
This one is for 4x4 to analyze. Of course it all nonsense, that I’m just a hAtEr https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5518608/2024/05/25/toni-kroos-real-madrid-germany-data/
Bernd Schuster (former Madrid player and coach): "Mbappé is coming, but you lose Kroos. People forget that it's going to be a problem for Madrid. Mbappé is a very positive point. If we just look at numbers and stats we can create almost any narrative. If we actually watch the games we can all see that Kroos is one of our most important players in one of our most successful periods ever. You could maybe fool someone who has never really watched him play, but obviously we all have, yet he still posts it. Weird
I don’t necessarily believe in those stats from that article either. Main thing that I find interesting is for all of the people who defend Kroos blindly, there is something that is lacking within his game that creates those stats. You can’t have it both ways when people point to his stats saying his progressive passes and accuracy is so high. This article isn’t some fly by night Barca blog but a an in depth analysis, which is interesting. The eye test sure. I thought he was top notch during our three peat, but fell since then but had a good final season. I don’t think we’re going to miss him much at all, and actually have a more positive attack since he’s not going to occupy the space so deep in front of the CBs anymore. Sergio used to do what Kroos did, people forget he did a lot of those deep switches too.
In 2014, we won the Champions League without Kroos. Ronaldo went, we won a Champions League in 2022 Benzema went, we won a Champions League in 2024 I appreciated Kroos a bit more recently but people really need to take off the rose-tinted glasses.
Doesn’t mean they weren’t great or important to those runs. We won CLs because we have a deep team and we keep replacing these players with other great players. But to say we play better without a guy who has been a staple on our most successful run ever and who continues to be rated by every manager is silly
He's not lying. Let's not underrate Kroos. We do lose a lot of football with him gone. But I'm very excited to see what Camavinga and Tchouameni together can bring. Their ceiling is scary. Next season should force them to grow as footballers. If Cama - Jude - Tchou - Fede clicks.....big problem for the rest of Europe.
There's rumours of Lunin potentially leaving..... I want to keep him but I get it....how can you compete with the top keeper in the world? A sale with a buyback clause could be smart by us given his age. What do you guys think?
So the period he fell, he won two leagues and a champions league. Which he was a huge part in. Tbh the whole team was in transition yet we still managed to be successful. You might be right about us not missing him. And it’s fair that his style might not suit you - Guti was one of my all time favourites but if we started him every game we wouldn’t win a lot lol. I’m looking forward to seeing how we play next season too, will be good to have a change
We really need to not take for granted some of these players. Great players leave yes and great players continue to play for us. Not every fan is as fortunate to have a club like ours.
Lunin would be degrading himself if he went back to back-up duty next season after having shown his capabilities during this past season. See if you include a buyback, sure, but the man is free to go with the best of wishes and deepest appreciation to his next stop.
🗣️ Van Nistelrooy: “Since I left PSV, I took the opportunity to invest a lot of time in being with other coaches. I asked to go to Madrid, and I received an invitation from Ancelotti to be with him for a week. I attended every training session and learned a lot from him.” pic.twitter.com/8VhADvwRwB— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) June 16, 2024
