The club went trophyless across all channels for the first time since 2010. Basketball, Women’s football etc.

Feel sorry for Chus Mateo. Lost his job after winning everything only for this team to collapse after he left.

    Scariolo on "thin ice".

Very unfortunate that they can't both lose

Early reports indicate about 80% Perez.

Reception of overwhelming applause and long lines to take a picture with Florentino when he voted, respectful applause with some boohs and whistles mixed in for Riquelme according to Marca.

Riquelme should have invited your incredible insight and vision into his team! You would show them how it's done!

Perez has his flaws and is far from perfect but Riquelme can’t be a serious alternative. The man is a complete joke and a laughing stock. I’d be embarrassed to have him as president.

I mean. Eh. When it comes to public image neither of them is quite the greatest.

Perez hadn't represented himself in a good light either.

That BDO snub, the Superleague, the Spanish ref issue, etc.

The outside media has been making a feast of these issues by Flo.

Tbf, that’s a lot closer than what I thought it would be.

Currently seems to be 65% Perez vs 35% Riquelme. Voting can go on until 8pm. ‘Only’ 12% of the socios had voted by 1pm today.

So far it seems way closer than I expected. Lots more members disgruntled with Perez than I thought, as I can only see a vote for Riquelme as a protest vote. The man doesn’t have anything concrete aside from being ‘not Florentino’.

Reading Socio statements outside of the polls, two sentiments are present:

    - It's time for a change.
    - People forgot what happened the last time change occcured.

So if you put all statements together into a collective thought, a convincing candidate would have had excellent chances to win.

I didn't read anybody voting for either candidate with conviction. Which is very unfortunate but mirrors my feeling that neither option is particularly exciting.

I agree. And if the elections were called on schedule instead of 2-3 weeks notice like Perez did now, I think it would have been even closer.

Maybe Perez called it earlier because he knew he’d probably lose the next election.

I think Florentino, as he had already talked about it, planned to move forward with opening outside investment in the club. And I believe he was sure we were going to win another ucl, especially with Mbappe, and in the euphoria of that he would announce his plans to make it official. But that didn't happen so he had to find another gimmick to move forward with the idea. And here come the elections.

Obviously the first step was the media projecting +30% polling. The next is this guy claiming his internal polling is +40%.

    Why?

His entire scheme is to bring even more shame to the club and say the election was stolen so more mud tossing and confusion can be instigated.

The irony is that the only ones who have ever tried to openly steal an election are the ones who has propped him up

If Riquelme get more than 30 % he is most likely the next president after Flo and if the next season is trophyless again ....Flo may be voted out in 2027 ,this guy will win the next elections .

There are a lot of people that want Raul,Hierro,Casillas etc back, dont want change to the club ownership ,want a sporting dirctor and think that the club aka Flo has completely lost the plot when it comes to squad bulding .
