We have seen nothing that suggests Vallejo is fit or competent enough currently to start a crossword puzzle let alone a La Liga match.

He started vs Milan alongside Rudiger. I do think Carlo might count on him for a game or two against lower table teams at home until Alaba is back.

Oof you got me with that one.

So, we picked up Joselu on loan last year and he was a fantastic signing for the team to fill in gaps and nab some goals also while changing our style up top.

Something that @natenate101 has mentioned earlier, there isn't one La Liga veteran or anyone else that we can convince for a year to ride the trophy train to elevate their career? Surely dropping 5ME or whatever is worth it to win a La Liga trophy and buy the club some time to figure things out? Even Ramos who I'm sure is clamoring to come back to change the slightly sour ending to his career. I'm willing to bet he'd play for peanuts. Not someone that can start every game obviously but to give our only two CBs some rest.

I don't know, there's definitely got to be creative options out there.

So 442 or 433 in this game? With Cama out, i think 433 for a while UNLESS we have trouble transitioning through the midfield... then i think Carlo adds density to the midfield.

Hmmmmm that’s a long time between injury and surgery. I wonder what the thinking was.

Yeah fair point. However, it was reported earlier this week that the extent of his ACL injury isn't as severe as it often is for other players.

Reminder that Carlo will try different things in these first few weeks until he finds the right formula. No reason to lose our minds when we see a weird lineup.

A few years ago the Rams of LA started or at least popularized the practice of not playing any starters in pre season games and treating the first 2 weeks as pre-season for the starters. New England had done this previously. Lots of old heads were like how will they be sharp and so forth, it turns out this was a great idea and now the whole league does it. It’s not as simple as I made it sound though, to mitigate the loss of opponent intensity (even pre season opponent intensity) the Rams started holding scrimmages with other teams who have their training camps close to us. Dallas cowboys have their training camp in Oxnard, while the Rams were in neighboring Thousand Oaks. But these scrimmages were higher intensity than usual, designed in collaboration between the two coaching staffs to benefit both teams prep.

All this to say that with the higher number of games being played in football now, would coaches of big clubs with big rosters and the means to buy good players, move to a similar kinda mentality of giving extra time off to starters during off season and working them into the rhythm in week 1 and 2.

Probably an unpopular take but I find Tibo to be a bit of a crybaby.

Hell of a GK though and I'll always support him.

He does like to whinge, probably that’s his motivation tactic.

I remember when he was pissed off at not being mentioned as the worlds best keeper in the year before we won the CL, and then in the year we did win it he kept bringing it up as a “proving the haters wrong” narrative.

Most goalkeepers whinge regularly anyway. It's almost a reflex reaction, like claiming offside whenever a goal goes in.

I wonder what qualms he could have with the coach. He's a keeper not someone that's actually involved in the play.

    Just stop shots bro.

Apparently drama started when Courtois wasn't given captaincy by NT coach. Good thing that RM captaincy is based on seniority at the club. :D

What Bulls shit is this? Carlo said that we lacked balance. This means that there will be 3 mids. Probably Jude will not start. Carlo has said that he needs rest.

I don't understand what makes Tedesco qualified for the job to be honest. Outside of the discussion about Courtois, i know Tedesco as a total failure/desperation hire for multiple Bundesliga clubs, Hoffenheim, Leipzig, Schalke, you name it. I don't know a single fan that would want to ever have him back.

Then Belgium thought that's their man? Why? His own brother is the team video analyst and head scout. Again, under which qualification?
