The Euroleague right now is way more fun to watch than the NBA itself, let alone this nba europe rubbish. We're literally the biggest team in the tournament and we're doing this. No wonder nobody likes us. We always had some type of "entitlement" but over the past few years we've gone much overboard.

I very much disagree and I spend so much money on tickets for Euroleague games. Whenever somebody Halfway decent from the US plays in Europe they absolutely crush the competition (Mike James for example)

Barcelona signed an extention with Euroleague alongside Efes.

These clubs attended the informal meeting the NBA held in London to discuss matters, they didn't commit to the project.

Funny how us media lean one side and European media lean another. I hope the European clubs entering this nba relationship are willing to give up a lot of brand real estate in the process.

Up until 2017 or so you had me as well. I was waking up at like 4am to watch my favorite team play in the playoffs. Now all the cliches you always listen about the NBA in comparison to the Euroleague have gotten to me. The obsession with threes, no defence and terrible officiating had turned me very much off the NBA.

At the same time that doesn't mean that as you said the best players play there. Still doesn't make it better to watch for me.

What? You don't enjoy the constant NBA ball carries and travelling? :p

I’ve stopped watching the NBA. When both teams are attempting 50 threes per game it’s just not interesting basketball.

combine that with the frequency of fouls and replay. I’m out.

Funny thing is attempted threes are at decade deep low and the teams that win, win around the rim, but that is what happens when you just dont without watching.

The % of 3 point shots attempted is higher in the Euroleague than in the NBA right now. With a lower success rate on top.

I checked basketball reference and the NBA is at 37 attempts per team (average per game) for this season where 14/15 is at 22 attempts. 68% increase.

The NBA is already in a viewership decline in the US, not sure how it’s doing globally but the fundamentals of the game are impacting the value of the product. The NBA was early adopters of social media, but there is a whole generation of people who don’t watch the game itself just highlight clips on X, insta and tick tok. Not nearly as monetizable.

What you also need to consider is that players went to the free throw line abouit as often as James Harden did with reduced volume, Jordan almost went to the line 1000 times in 94. People pointing the finger to three points, when OKC practically BEAT the three point basketball, and Detroit now play well inside the three poiint line is silly.

Just say you don't like the sport and move on. It's also easy to claim how much better basketball was and how much you watched of it even though that was the era where the majority of games weren't nationally/internationally televized.

It's called lying. The truth is it begins with the fact that basketball players have become mostly unpopular in the national discussion with NFL players taking over, even worldwide. That's where it really begins. Shaq was horrible for large parts of his career but nostalgia and a total tunnel vision on the good parts of it has skewed public opinion tremendously.

I've discussed a lot with coaches and club people about basketball and the truth is, most of them simply don't watch enough of it to judge it as a product. A Euroleague winning player and tremendously successful coach that played in the NBA for a short break, once told me "i enjoyed the tactical battles between D'Antoni and Pat Riley" ignoring the fact that when D'Antoni took up the Suns, Pat Riley retired from coaching.

This NBA Europe project so far BS because all TOP team so far rejected movies, well maybe just RM is in. They trying to install NBA model in Europe, but we are not americans, we look into basketball bit different.

Basketball was the sport I followed and played growing up. To say I don’t like the sport isn’t credible coming from you.

I don’t care for this particular style of 3 point basketball. That’s fine if you do. Yes, Jordan went to the free throw line mainly from attacking the rim which, to me, is a much more interesting style.

there is nostalgia, but that’s in all cultural context of movies, music, etc. I’m not arguing it’s better back then, it’s all about style and taste.

That's good because barely any good team plays it anymore.

It's like somebody saying they don't like football because it's only time wasting and diving.

Basically what I said several weeks ago. His long term position is a midfielder. Not a defender.

A CB needs to simply "defend first", and at Real Madrid, they need to be elite at that, it's simple. I am very sceptical that long-term Huijsen will be a starting CB for us.

I show you facts the 3pt attempts are near the all time high of last year and your telling me I’m a troll?

I seriously think you have mental problems.

I think you're too dumb to separate between volume and quality.

There's more shots taken in general, nobody plays the clock down anymore, so logically there's going to be more shots of any nature taken. Including 3 pt shots.

I think you need to learn ball because the only thing you are proving is that you don't know shit about 2 sports instead of one here.

Look at the MVPs of the past few years. Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Shai, practically three big men and a Kobe clone.

Stick to talking about something you watch instead of discussing hoops that you yourself admitted that you don't. Dummy.

For all the "oh my god this place isn't fun" you keep coming back so boohoo spare me with that if you can't take your opinion being challenged.

It's truly the spirit of modern discussion "I don't watch this or know what is going on there but I'm going to explain to you what is wrong with it"

Without a elite goalkeeper we're joining a therapy group. We haven't had an elite defender for years now.

Courtois is a god-send, but a leaky CB pairing sets him up for indefinite failure.

Pretty hard to get a solid defense when they are always injured.

But Madrid needs a prime WC CB ASAP, not a project.

It's mad to me, and when you point it out is "name who the club should sign" well if you're going to plug him out of his defense and let him defend half the field chances are he won't look too good either.

We also need to develop a great CB PAIRING but that's hardly possible when they miss half a season either in tandem or after another.
