Most of the people that go to the games don't really care about the game like that, it's more of an NFL event than about the game on the field.
So there's no plan in place in the event Perez were sick, ill or injured (or dead) and could not for whatever reason carry on with his duties as President. The idea of him not being President makes them so insecure they won't even consider it. I'm afraid things may be worse than people feared. Do his minions really think they could just prop him up like a Weekend at Bernie's movie and people wouldn't notice?

You're right; there's no guarantee he lasts to 2029. In fact, anyone can die at any moment. Hence it's naive to keep all the plans hidden until he's about to retire/step down. They should make it clear from now. There's always going to be greedy people who will look to exploit their positions to line their pockets.
