Why would they suddenly cooperate with something that is practically dead? Feels like we're trying to find any kind of angle to exit this without looking like fools.
As odd as this sounds, the same reason why people in positions of power and wealth pay off accusing parties and members of the public, just to remove any possibility of a revival or media attention. This might be UEFA playing the cooperative angle.
The 2027-2033 Champions League: more money, but no format change or free tickets The modifications for the 'new' Champions League were already approved by the clubs months ago and A22, the company that manages the Super League, has not been part of the agreement. The 'new' Champions League (2027-2033) will bring more money for participating teams, but it won't be free and there won't be a change in format. According to sources close to the negotiations, MARCA has been negotiating the commercialization of UEFA competitions for a long time and was approved by UEFA and the clubs, without any involvement from A22, the company that manages the Super League . The audiovisual innovations for the new Champions League, which there will be, will come in terms of content : new cameras, new narrative... but not in terms of free access. Nor will there be two groups of 18 teams. However, there will be more money, "much more ," they tell MARCA. Barcelona's possible withdrawal from the A22 project could be another nail in the coffin for a Super League that major European clubs view as a done deal . Barça, incidentally, has confirmed it will attend the ECA Assembly to be held this week. https://www.marca.com/futbol/champi...s-2027-2033-dinero-cambio-formato-gratis.html
As part of the deal to merge, matches will be free to view via an online platform similar to Netflix or at least “very cheap”. This would be a game changer and would likely see many leagues try to follow suit (La Liga will obviously be against this as they are still in 90’s) - I’d imagine a tiered platform where it’s free with ads or basic fee for HD and ad-free and maybe another tier for UHD/4K
With the current number of teams in the WC and Euros, FIFA breaks are held so the likes of Fiji, San Marino, Bolivia, Luxembourg, Bahrain and India make the competitions.
Paying less/nothing never works. This is a bait where they give you something, then crack down with brutal price hikes a year or two in. The person that's operating this A22 company has done this twice already, transition traditional cable/sat channels into monthly subscription premium service platforms. That's what he's there for. To created another streaming platform you would have to pay for.
Fede is not going on national team duty apparently. amazing news https://as.com/futbol/primera/valverde-se-queda-en-madrid-n/
Disney, for example, where I can see this heading, you pay £4.99 for all but with ads..If I am paying that for top tier games, then I'm signing up for it. IF people want the 4K streaming, that is up to them... If you have IPTV, you probably don't need to worry about it anyway
That is great news. World Cup Qualifying in the Conmebol region is over. It's just friendlies in this window for the South Americans, whereas there are still qualifiers in Europe.
Good for him and for us, he had been playing almost non-stop for a long time. And I hope his NT will give him the same treatment for November too.

Bad excuse. You have people trying to downplay Franco basically being a RB out there by saying "He just turned 18!" while the same sources blast Endrick, whom last I checked had less to work with yet scored fantastically when given opportunities. Makes perfect sense there is confusion but I still believe patient is needed because even if Xabi is playing favorites he will stop once he needs the results.
Netflix is in trouble. Long term, they need to expand their audience and offering to maintain and keep subscribers growing and a key demographic for advertisers is that 15-35 age. They got outbid for the UFC and now are looking at football. It wouldn’t shock me if Paramount/CBS comes back in for 5B a year. They are trying to build the moat.
I don’t get the Franco hype. He’s not that good, yet. He’s 18. If he’s continuing to start over Jude, Cama, Arda then we have a serious problem. good he’s gotten some run when we were having players come back from injury, but it’s time to sit him.
