Club covering its back. Now I know why it was previously rumoured that he rejected the contract offer the club made. At first I thought it was because he wanted more money now I understand him.

Article about Joan Martinez in April. He turns 17 next month

Strong in the air and in duels, thanks to his 1.88 metres and his physique, hardened in boxing when he was still at Levante. The affectionate nickname that Arbeloa dedicated to him on social media, Rambo , is no coincidence.

In addition, he was neat in bringing the ball out, the main focus he has worked on since he put on the Madrid jersey, and dangerous in the rival area: he came close to scoring with a header in the purest Sergio Ramos style, his idol. “The truth is that he faced the debut very calmly, he is ready for the challenges,” his people told AS, describing a personality that has fit like a glove in the Ciudad Real Madrid, where he has great friends such as Jesús Fortea and Diego Aguado.

Signed from Levante in 2023, all the big teams were on his trail: Barcelona, Atleti, Valencia, Villarreal, Sevilla ... All of them. Until, when Real Madrid knocked on his door, any doubts were put to rest.

A Madridista by birth, heading to the team where his idol Ramos was a hallmark was a dream. He is fulfilling it and is in the initial phase of that journey. Although he has started at full speed, as his family instills in him, he does not let his feet leave the ground.

Joan's options are to play, above all, the first match against Milan, which Rüdiger and Militao will not be able to attend, since they will join the team on the 29th, directly from the USA. It will be time to see Joan Martínez and Asencio alongside Vallejo .

Jacobo, who after the European Under-19 Championship could also be included in Ancelotti's list for the three friendlies in the United States.

Marca article says Raul has promoted him to Castilla for 2024-25 He was promoted from Juvenil C to Juvenil A pretty fast last season by Arbeloa too. Also was CB partner in Youth CL alongside Jacobo who's couple of years older and played for Castilla last season.

Why don't we promote Castilla to first-team and actually use them? When's the last time we developed notable players - Carvajal and Morata?

The problem is that we do not promote young players to the Castilla to grow. Raul wants to have results and plays with the best he has, not the ones with best potential.

I am guessing winning 4 UCL in 5 years, and 3 in a row isn't good enough.

Yeah Barcelona couldn’t repeat not once but they have 2 or 3 teams in the top 3

We would have won that 2015 one had we not had injuries. Damn it

    Raul Asencio (center back)

The plans for the Castilla centre-back have changed. With offers from First Division teams... and an offer on the table from the City group in which Girona was involved (an agreement was not reached due to the buy-back options), Raúl Asencio (Las Palmas, 2003) has seen how the non-arrival of Yoro, who finally accepted the million-dollar offer from United, has caused a halt in his departure.

The centre-back travels to the pre-season tour with the first team after completing 34 matches with Castilla in the First Division, being key in Raúl González's scheme. Powerful in the air, intelligent in decision-making and with great speed and physical strength that helps him to be dominant in individual duels.

I wouldn't select multiple teams of ours considering how close together our trophies are, you can just select the best, by the same token I wouldn't two Barca teams so close to each other. Funny how Micah actually has the best list but is considered a joke in that room.

I'm surprised the 2017-'18 was the one getting plaudits. The team the year before was the best of the three-peat teams and also had the most convincing win in the championship game too. (The 2014-'15 team was the best team of that era, but tragically the only one without decoration; a Madrid/Barcelona final that season would've been seismic).

Yea. 2016-17 team was better. They most probably selected 17-18 team because we beat an English team (Liverpool) to the title. :D

Micah at least selected 2019-20 Bayern team. Heynckes' 2012-13 team was the best team of that era imo. Beat Seriea A champions Juve 2-0 home and away, beat Barca who won La Liga with 100 points 4-0 at home and 3-0 away.

What about Inter, 07-08 ManU or 06-07 Milan?

Like most of you are saying our 16-17 team was vastly superior to all iterations of the threepeat. It was the peak.
