I saw Cristiano's son is also joining Castilla. I can see CR7 having a total meltdown if his son ends up bieng a backup or role player to Marcelo's son. They worked well as teammates but let's see how good of friends they are when the kids are competing for the same position.

When will Camavinga get a regular starting spot then? Tchouameni, Fede and Bellingham are young too. Tcho as CB meant Camavinga got to start as DM vs City and Bayern. Wonder if club and Carlo sees that as a convenient solution. But then Tchouameni won't be happy.
I pray this is the year Rodrygo finally breaks out of his shell. Incredible footballer consider in my opinion that he has never really gone past second gear.... Read somewhere that Carlo said Rodrygo would be key in the system in playing on the right and helping Fede out defensively as well. If true, I hope he embraces the role fully. Vini, Kylian, Rodrygo if they figure things out can become one the best tridents in history. There is so much football in there.....all technically elite, all know how to make intelligent runs....Vini/Rodrygo can become elite finishers like Kylian.....all can beat players 1v1.... It really could be insane.
Reinier is not training with Real Madrid because he is not a first-team player. He will work with Castilla as he did when he arrived in 2020.— @diarioas pic.twitter.com/tJ28OSuEbr— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) July 19, 2024
If you think times are tough because Real Madrid missed out on Leny Yoro just remember there was a time when Real Madrid were getting eliminated by Roma in the Champions League RO16 and at half-time some Nicholas Cage impersonator fooled Ramon Calderon into honouring him. pic.twitter.com/14oe8ekG91— Managing Madrid (@managingmadrid) July 19, 2024
Since it's pre-season time with a new addition in attack, there's a lot of discussion about which formation Carlo will use with Mbappe, Vini, Rodrygo and Jude. In 2023-24 he switched from 4-3-3 in 2022-23 to 4-4-2 to adjust to Benz leaving with Jude. Some suggestions that Carlo might 4-2-2-2 "Magic Rectangle" with Jude and Rodrygo as #10s rather than play Rodrygo at RW. Carlo used this formation at PSG in 2012-13 and this has been Pellegrini's go to formation at every club including RM. I’ve officially retired so I can watch football live now gonna be fun being on the match threads again to argue about nothing since none of us have a say in anything
Carlo did something very similar in 2014/15 first half of the season, with James and Isco as slightly wider 10s behind Cristiano and Benzema, and ahead of Modric and Kroos as centre mids. All went to shit with injuries and fatigue from Jan/Feb but was phenomenal during the 22 game winning streak in the first half of the season.
Yea. Modric had 3 months injury that derailed our season. He got injured again after returning and missed semis vs Juve too.
Yeah I keep busy with the business kids and gyms but I myself don’t work except some oversight and that’s it Gotto enjoy my kids before they all leave the nest

Carlo's time with Madrid has seen two league titles, two Copa del Reys, and three Champions League wins, yet I feel with zero hesitation that his best team was the one that didn't win any of those trophies. The Luka injury as you talked about from that season was just too much of a hurdle to overcome, but when that team was humming they were absolutely incredible. And, for all of that, they were a goal here and a goal there away from a league/UCL double, which isn't a lament as much as it's just to serve as a reminder of how fine the margins of this sport are. The 2022 and 2024 teams had the CL luck that eluded the 2012 and 2015 teams...in the long run I guess you could say some things level out. I'd rate the latter two over the former two very, very easily. Yet you've been able to afford courtside Magic tickets before...'mate I must know your secrets. I don't mind doing work at all - I feel like a turd whenever I'm between jobs - but there's also places I need to get to and stuff and I don't make enough to accomplish any of that either right now which kinda sucks, lol.
Modric injury really derailed that season though. After winning 22 in a row, we had a horrible spell with defeat at Valencia, terrible 4-0 loss to Atlético, losing to Schalke at Bernabéu etc. Khedira looked totally washed and January signing Lucas Silva flopped. Then had a small resurgence knocking out Atlético from CL and we dominated Juve in the 2nd leg and were unlucky not to get the win. Not sure how the final vs Barca would have panned out had we progressed. Maybe Modric would have been back by then.
We really don't have much of a preseason anymore. Teams play a couple of promotional friendlies, the super cup and it's straight to the league. You could almost say the first few matchdays of the league are the pre season.
Yes it was. We were crushing teams like 9-1 back then. It was dumb to fire him and not consider the inhuries. I’d take that trophy less team healthy over any of our CL winning teams
i was in sales for a long time. Did well and invested in several things , a lot of them flopped but a couple hit. Got tired of doing sales so I just decided to retire from working and just oversee
