    My Barra Comrades:

This is of course a sad week. Yet it is also an exciting one. Thanks to our beloved Black & Red we have one last opportunity to party like the drunken tailgate GODS that we are.

We are also welcoming the New England "Revolution" into our home. This team is of course filled with pretentious Ma$sholes bent on world domination.

--You may ask, how do I know this? That my comrades is easy. Who else, but pretentious pricks from the outher depths of Ma$$holeya would name their team after an entire war? A war that created the greatest country on Earth. A team that has never won a fvcking thing. A team that loses game after game (yet somehow finds results...) and still has the gall to be named after our great War of Independence!

    The historian in me cringes...

Yet, if we stop to think on it, (and perhaps have a few drinks) it ODDLY makes some sense.

America simply wasn't that good during the Revolution either. Why by current 20th/21st Century standards, we were utter crap.

    Our great hero: George Washington:
(For the benefit of my Barra brothers that slept through History 101... And I KNOW there were a few. )

--Was a MEDIOCRE 3-6 as the commanding general of the Colonial Army!(Aside from the ENGLISH bit, sounds a bit like Steve Nicol doesnt it? )

To actually defeat the British we called on foriegn military officers to help lead our armies to victory. One of the more important officers was a Pole by the name of Thaddeus Kosciuszko:

Does anyone else note the stunning resemblance to our brilliant Coach Nowak?

    Coincidence??? I think not!!! :)

The real Revolution was plagued by defeat after defeat. It wasn't until the British simply decided to give up to take on bigger pricks (ie the French) that we actually won!

--History always repeats itself my Barra friends. As another great power, DC United will also tire of farting around with a medling little Revolution. We too will move on to fight a bigger and more menacing group of a$$holes (ie the Galaxy or Wizards).

We must do our part as a world power.

Now many of you COULD join the British Army.

That would be nice. The pay is good. The uniforms ARE snazzy. But you might miss the game!!

If you do not mind. I suggest something a bit more appropriate for fighting THIS Revolution on Saturday.

DRINK LARGE AMOUNTS PUSSAR's BRITISH NAVAL RUM.

    (Clever recipes follow: http://www.cowen.co.uk/pussers.htm )

THE BEST WAY TO DRINK IT IS TO WIN THE KEG POLL!

    Guess hard. Guess smart.

6:17 was the lucky number for me and the keg last week. I'm gonna ride it again.

    The number, that is.

6:26! We're gonna be thirsty, but it's going to be colder than last Saturday.

Awesome lead-in Owen. We certainly did suck as a military during the first Civil War. Yet we won with guerilla tactics of outlasting the invader but forgot the lesson in the sixties (but I hope it's fresh now!!)

I prefer the ne tea-baggers as a name. Throw new enland tea baggers into the Anacostia harbor--- OR ---

Throw New England down the well
    Give United victory.
    We are going to LA
    Where we'll have a big par-ty.

    Great write up McO.
The 17th Lancers have a great cap badge.

I'll stick with the Royal Navy and the 42nd Highlanders they're family.

I will have to say 6:21. And will donate the Pusser's Rum to whomever can solve this riddle. Rum turns me into this:

-One makes this, then sells it to someone who doesn't need or use it, who then sells it to someone who doesn't even know they are using it.

    What is it?

First to reply properly gets the Pusser's IF of course I win it....

6:13 (from afar) and enjoy your last tailgate of the season. I don't really need to say 'make it a good one' as that damn goes without saying doesn't it :D

If I win then I dedicate it this week to McOwen for his brilliant history lesson and reference to Pusser's Rum (you must get out more mate!)

With love and stuff from the UK

    Great news!

Looks like the weather is shaping up nicely as well, which might help 'walkup' sales
