Okay, who put Nandrolone in their cornflakes?

We're in minute 86 and Chivas U.S.A. has dropped 5 on Real Salt Lake.

Are they actually about to not suck?
    Is this just an anomaly?
Does Westerhof really make a difference?
Is this really a faked stage production by MLS, being filmed on a green screen somewhere in Hollywood and superimposed onto the field at the HDC?

    Inquiring minds want to know....

You know, an (R) is pointless WHEN YOU GIVE AWAY THE RESULT IN THE SCORELINE.

I really mean it when I think MLS did something to prevent RSL from having a chance. This is sad.

Seeing as how I kept the score out of the thread title, I thought the whole point of (R) was to keep people who didn't want to see the score from looking at the thread, no?

Chivas have arrived! Matt Taylor is not a bust, why did we ever leave him unprotected? Romo is going to back it up now I see, that he'll lead MLS in goals. Ramirez and Martinez are obviously not washed up! Guzan will replace Tim Howard at Manu U.! You guys don't even need Palencia and Garcia! Releasing Suarez was planned, it's obvious now! And you don't even have Sequira! Holy ********!! MLS Cup is ********ING yours!!! Congradulations, on behalf of the Kansas City Wizards.

I'll take the other half of that behalf and so go screw yourselves. It was all luck.

No, it's too keep the result out of the thread title. Obviously, the title implies that Chivas won.

You should have called the thread "Chivas USA v Salt Lake 7/9 (R)" or something like that.

Did you even watch the game??

Granted the RSL defense sucked, but Chivas USA played some very attractive, attacking soccer.

The score could have easily been 8-1, except Countess made a number of top-notch saves.

i watched some of the game and chivas played great attacking football or futbol, but i'm not sold on chivas yet b/c they have two wins and they both came against RSL at home

I don't think it was that surprising a result. First, RSL's record on the road has been terrible - including last night's game, they're now 0-8-1 with 3 goals scored and 21 allowed. And the one road draw was the first game in NJ, when the high winds made it pretty much impossible for either team to play soccer. Away from Rice-Eccles, they've been hopeless, even with a full strength team. And last night, they were missing Pope, Pierce, Dunseth, and Williams.

Kamler, Knowles, Behnke and Akwari in the back plus Cutler at d-mid might be the worst defensive unit in the history of MLS. After watching the first five minutes of Matt Taylor shredding the RSL back line, it was pretty clear that a blowout was in store.

Why did I put Nelson Akwari in my MFLS lineup this week? Why? :)

I thought the title was sarcastic, I thought it implied they lost.

Is it hot during the summer under that tin-foil hat?

    ----

This result is clearly hilarious. It must suck mightily to go down to a team that isn't even the double digits in the rankings.

The thing is Goats F.C. missed 2-3 chances right in front of the net in the last five minutes of the second half. It really should have been 7 or 8-1.

Every team is going to have a game of the season no matter how good or crappy they are.

That was Chivas USA's night. Get over it. They will get squashed on Saturday!

Yep..they've officially become my favorite 2005 team.... EXPANSION team, that is :)

Once they get those finishers they are supposed to get post GOld Cup, they might just become one scary bunch....

Someone has to say it : CAP Matt Taylor! One more game and he attains Quaranta status! :D

Now they've beat a great team. Sequira's also a pretty good player. I'd like to see him stay in MLS, but he'll supposedly be gone after this season.

I always wondered how long it would take for Chiva Martinez to start playing like that. I guess the answer is "6 years".

Seriously. My thread title should be their new name. Either that or Americanize it and call them Goats U.S.A.

    Or Goats Los Angeles.
