Teams may lose. Players may not pan out. Clubs go through ups and downs. But presenting your product on that atrocious field is unacceptable. I don't care if the village or the team is responsible. Management of the Fire needs to do whatever is necessary to fix it. Soccer is a beautiful game that should be played on a lush, green carpet. This has gone from bad to worse. It's like a store trying to sell products they say are great from store with broken windows, missing paint, etc.. When TP was opened the Fire hired a first class groundskeeper. She is gone, but if AH doesn't do anything else, he needs to pony up the money to get this done. Frankly, despite the teams problems, this field makes me not want to attend games. I've been a season ticket holder from day 1 and I've already renewed for next year, but if this doesn't get better, it shows me they just don't care.
If it does get fixed (re sodded) it probably won' happen to after our October 5th game, we are off for the next two weeks (last game is October 24th). If it does happen (re sodded) at least we will get to play on a professional soccer pitch once this year.
embarrassing field, embarrassing ownership, embarrassing results. Anyone else down to brown-bag it for the remaining home matches? At lease we'll match the color of the "new" sod!
The credit for that goes entirely to danimal. I lifted the avatar off of him. And yes, I thought it was one of the funniest things ever posted on here.
Don is a bad supporter because he thinks Andy is an ass. He was the first to use that photo and call Andy an ass. What a bad supporter.
“What I say to them always is: ‘Bring me sod. Bring me impact Kentucky blue grass that has the qualities that are going to help you suck-seed,’” Hauptman said. “That’s all I can do. Then it’s up to them to come up to me and say, ‘OK, we have some.’ I’ll say, ‘Go for it.’ There’s nothing more or less complicated about it than that.”

That pitch looks like a depression-era sharecropper's pants. Of course, without the pride, dignity, and destitution. I guess we can add a documentary on the 1920s and corn growing to things I'd rather watch than a Fire game.
You are just NOW realizing that they don't care? Actually, that's nice that you had optimism in the face of such behavior from our ownership. I wish I was less cynical at times.
My dad just took a trip to Canada and saw TFC and Montreal. They both have very nice fields. Both are "sponsored" by Scotts. Scotts has a booth at the stadium. Think of all the good publicity they could get if they got involved and turned our shit field back into what it used to be like.
