He is a striker He is hungry for goals He plays limited minutes He is going to shoot and go for it when he can. Sometimes it will be the wrong decision, sometimes it will be glorious. but it’s his DNA and what has gotten him at RM at the age of 18
Same mentality that made him lead Palmeiras to league title win at 17 even though they had to cover a lot of ground to climb up the table. All started with his brace in 4-3 win after Palmeiras were down 3-0 at HT vs Botafogo. And he scored crucial goals consistently until end of that season. Can't remember anyone his age leading the attack of a league winning team.
Kylian Mbappé’s reaction to Endrick’s goal against Stuttguart was priceless. 😂🤍 https://t.co/UUEuEnWiLj— KM (@Kylian) September 18, 2024
Very greedy imo. He’s lucky he scored because it wasn’t a great shot. And even though he scored, it showed he does not have good decision making yet. He’s also lucky because his best option was to pass to Mbappe, and Mbappe 100% would have shot from the same position rather than passing.
Great scorers are selfish at times. CR7 used to take shots most wouldn't but he scored from them at a decent rate. Endrick also set up Vini with a great chance in this cameo so it's not like he's a blackhole when it comes to decision making. In that long range goals compilation of Endrick, he has very good technique with low corner shots that are tough to save given his shot power. He caught Stuttgart GK off guard as shooting with less backlift saved some extra time that GK would have got to react. There are 3-4 goals in his Palmeiras compilation with same technique.
Strikers need to be selfish. This perceived selfishness is a product of the striker's confidence about his ability to score at any given moment. Without that, where will he be? Back in the days, Benzema was a selfless servant to CR7 and the team playing as the central forward. How did most of us think of him? He became the scapegoat of all of our problems.... not the GOAT he later became.

Buena jugada de Endrick y gol de Mbappé ✨ pic.twitter.com/YG2lKWgQYk— Real Madrid Fans 🤍 (@MadridismoreaI) September 19, 2024
Endrick needs to shoot from outside because that's basically he's greatest skill. He's not a 9. I can see him doing what Rodrygo does when we play a 433 but instead of creating and dribbling, he will try to be more direct.
🚨 Endrick will START either vs Espanyol or Alavés. @marca pic.twitter.com/GbtrWZbITV— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) September 20, 2024 🚨 Real Madrid are SUPER happy with Endrick. Not just with him as a player, but also with how hard he is working on a daily basis in Valdebebas. He has a great connection with his teammates in the dressing room and has adapted perfectly. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/9UYmGZa9XF— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) September 21, 2024
He's been absolutely excellent, I haven't been as confident in a young player changing the game for us since Higuain. He's got the same kind of attitude and confidence that nothing can go wrong. Hard to train that.
João Paulo Sampaio (Football director at Palmeiras): "For every 5 goals Endrick scores, Real Madrid has to pay €1.5m to Palmeiras. His move cost around €60m but €30m were fixed and €35 in add-ons. The add-ons are for goals, assists, matches played etc." pic.twitter.com/Hom2sODRTV— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) September 23, 2024
Maximum transfer fee to Palmeiras will be 60 ME. Add-ons will stop after that no matter how many Endrick scores.
Wonder when these add-ons "expire". Can't have them forever and you've gotta give the player a chance to acclimatise before counting.
