The fact that Copa wasn't a big success for Endrick vs Euro success for other young players will be a good thing in the long run. The hype died down a little compared to when he scored in those Brazil friendlies in Europe. The media focus is elsewhere at the moment. Dude is a kid. A bit of humbling is not a bad thing.... helps him remember he has a very long way to go..... Come train hard with your new team, and we'll see for the rest.
He basically said the players were doing Brazilian people a favor by not going on vacation to play this tournament, boasting about how they trained "under the sun" for 30 days. Don't think humility is one of his biggest assets. But yeah, at least people stopped talking about him a little and thinking he would somehow "save" our attack.
It's one of those things that you get what he is trying to say but comes off incredibly tone deaf. He should be saying "we rather be here playing because it was their dream instead of being on vacation somewhere".
Yeah, that's what happens when you try to fake humbleness. It happens a lot with Guardiola during press conferences where he puts Krasnodar or something as favorites before a match. It's pathetic.
I wouldn't call that Pep thing fake humble. Managers in press confs are often just playing mind games either with the press or with theirs players.
A few months ago I would have said he was lying but I've been seeing some Brazilian kids recently, some even older than Endrick, being named after non-Brazilian stars. Most recently a player named after a German CB I think but I'm genuinely coming up blank. Not going to lie I though that was odd lol. Anyway, I'm excited for him to come. I hate that Dorival didn't give him much of a chance this Copa. I don't see Ancelotti giving him a prominent role either this season but I think he'll learn and grow much with the squad in another country. For some reason, I have a really good feeling about him.

I'll be honest. He looked quite fat to me in the Copa. Don't care if "that's his build", heard the same about Zion and he eventually became a traditional fat person. Vinicius developed into a very good athlete, if Endrick wants to succeed a similar transformation will be needed.
I think it's a good situation for him to be joining the team. There won't be too much pressure on Endrick with Mbappe taking on goalscoring responsibilities. Joselu leaving opens the spot for him as back up striker and RM will be playing a lot of games next season.
In other words: No excuses! jk jk Yep, zero pressure on him. Zero turmoil around the club. He can play and have fun.
I hope he proves otherwise and such, I'll be patient with him, but from what I've seen of him there's not too much that excites me. Obviously I'm not a scout though, there's every chance I don't know what I'm looking at.
When we signed him at 16, I didn't expect he'd join as a teenager who has played a key role in leading his team to league title. So his progression is already fast forwarded from what were my realistic expectations.
Endrick on IG: “Finally. 18 🤍⏳” pic.twitter.com/5OV2lLzqBH— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 21, 2024 So he isn’t fat then as some noted on RMBS? Glad that’s been cleared up.
Must be sucking in his big gut! This black and white filter is reminding me of Isco's photo way back when.
🗣️ Ronaldo Nazario: "Endrick is a player with a lot of quality. He has a nose for goal, he protects the ball well, he's good in 1v1s, he dribbles well. I think he has all the great characteristics of a striker, with the quality of a No. 10." pic.twitter.com/tBOnF7A0wP— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) July 21, 2024
This is a photoshoot with professional lighting remember Isco showing his abs when he was criticized for being overweight also. Hazard didn't need a walking help to get around, it's usually those couple extra pounds that matter. Zion Williamson is kind of a warning example of a player that balloons in and out of shape pretty extremely as well. At his age he should arguably be a bit more slender. When he came on in the Copa he looked a bit heavy to me and his first step lacked the explosiveness. Considering what we paid it's not the end of the world if he ends up not being all that great but who knows.
