MLS end of year salaries released to day.
By the end of the season.................Dallas joined Philly on the very low end of expenditure. I don't remember them being this low for quite some time.

We'll have to see if they re-invest in high-salary DP-type players, or build from within with the lower salary players.

Wow! No kidding. They've been surprisingly middle of the pack or even higher in recent years. They were actually more successful when lower but using the academy players more though. A successful academy + three really good DP's and rounded out by decent vets has escaped them (and most MLS teams) though.

Former FCD academy graduate and USL League One Champion with NTSC (and former USYNTer I guess).......................had a star turn last night as Ottawa won the CPL title. That guy has moved around a bit in the US and Mexico, and has finally found a home in Canada.

His bicycle kick in a blizzard has gone totally viral.

Um who is it? And yes that is up with the US-CR game and JJ's snow fro. Something about those blizzard games.

    David Rodriguez

He has a burgeoning minor league soccer trophy cabinet.

USL League One title with North Texas in 2019, MLS Next Pro with Austin in 2023, and now the CPL with Ottawa in 2025.

[Its no surprise they didn't say his name in the video clip. The announcers probably couldn't tell who the hell it was.]

Wasn't he on the Dallas Cup wining team with Pax and Jesus? Maybe scored some crazy goal (if so that's his calling card - crazy goals).

Blurb about Nolan Norris in Buzz's recent column predicting off-season moves.
Predicting FC Dallas winter 2025 contract moves - 3rd Degree

Nolan Norris is on the cusp of his full-time breakthrough, and German clubs keep sniffing around. So it’s a given to pick up his option even if he moves into the senior roster, as he’s part of the future plans around here. He’s 21 in February. Prediction: Pick up option.

All sorts of opinions and predictions about FCD's other young players in that column.

A few that played there a while but have moved on made it too. Julian Eyestone and Keyrol Figueroa. Keyrol is interesting because he wasn't called up for the U02 WC and had seemingly floundered. He has shown well in the last couple of months and is looking like his old self (from reports).

FCD's post on the subject is here. It's a ten-player roster, and they are sending two '12s alongside the U15s: CMs Mateo Arriaga and Angello Pastran.

Arriaga has looked good to me. He’s basically a member of the U-15’s at this point anyway.

Conference tournaments just finished up. Usually, this is when I do my update on FCD's college players. FCD is more represented in the NCAA tournament than usual, so keep it in mind that something could significantly change in a few weeks.

High interest players for FCD/NTX this offseason
-'03 CB Slade Starnes: all-freshman, 2nd-team all-conference, and 1st-team all-conference in three years at Furman. Transferred to SMU this year and got 2nd-team all-ACC and ACC tournament MVP honors while captaining the team to the #5 overall seed in the NCAA tournament and the ACC Championship.
-'02 DM Diego Letayf: Multi-year captain and every-game starter for a very good Georgetown program entering the NCAA tournament as the #7 seed.
-'02 GK Seth Wilson: Two-year starter and captain for UNC-G, an at-large in the NCAA tournament. Gave up 10 goals in his final 14 games this year. Multi-time defender of the week in the SoCon.
-'05 CM Diego Hernandez: Slowed down a little in the second half of the year, but he's on the shortlist for all the POTY awards. Captains Furman, the #16 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, SoCon regular season and conference champions. Also, notably, captained the FCD U23s to their great season this past summer.
-'02 CB Grady Easton: Starts every game when healthy for a very good STL program that enters the NCAA tournament after winning the A-10 conference. Eric Quill gave him his breakthrough at FCD/NTX.

Younger players that are worth noting (even if signing them pro isn't necessarily likely this offseason) (excludes some players like Aaron Salinas who spent this year injured)
-'04 LCB Will Baker: Has started basically every game for Michigan since he got on campus three years ago. This year, they got an at-large to the NCAA tournament and will play Notre Dame in the first round.
-'05 FB Ismael Nieves: Starts every game and is really productive attacking for Loyola Marymount.
-'06 CB Luke Shreiner: Now at Kentucky, who's gearing up for the NCAA tournament, where they'll play STL. Got injured this year, but was starting a lot of games prior.
-'07 FW Ren Sylvester: Effective rotational attacker for Notre Dame in his true freshman year. They'll play Michigan in the first round of the NCAAs.
-'07 CM Landon Hickam: Was starting to start the season, but is now a super-sub for the #5 overall team. Scored the dramatic winner over Wake Forest in the game of the year.
-'07 AM Bryce Outman: Not the player I would have predicted to adjust to college soccer this quickly, but has turned into basically the key creator for a top 25 UMKC squad that gets Lindenwood to start their NCAA tournament.

They cut Pedrinho, Urzua, Ramirez, Sainte, Pondeca, Endeley, Pepi, and Scott. I guess Baran and Molina had extra guaranteed years on their deals - if only FCD actually published contract terms so we didn't need insider reporting to figure out if someone is on option years.

Pedrinho's the one I'm most surprised by. Feels like he's a casualty of the front office getting Louicius in the summer - hard to keep them both given they're both internationals and Pedrinho was the one who could be released (even if he getting on rosters that Louicius wasn't last season). Anyway, he opted out of the re-entry draft, so he's leaving the country.

Scott next after that. Bringing in Sarver and Farrington in back-to-back years just blocked him.

Urzua and Ramirez are both good players and I suspect they'll have the opportunity elsewhere in MLSNP for a trial year.

Good tournament of results for FCD. Finished tied for first in their qualifying group with Chelsea, Leipzig, and an Indian club. Then finished tied for first in their placement group with Bayern and PSV. Missed out on playing in the knockouts by one goal of goal difference.
Wins over PSG, Leipzig, and Bayern included.
