I think this is kind of a good idea, maybe some of those goes will be able to develop in ways that they may not have been able to otherwise. Zhang Linpeng should be in the main China team though.

i like the team giving opportunity to yi teng, the dude who did not make an impact in fc metz, it suggests to the youth players that even they didnt make i to the first team, as long they come back to CSL they will still have a chance for the national team.

for zhang linpeng, the news once mentioned that CFA is really focusing on. developing zhang linpeng, some bullshit news designated zhang linpeng as the next fan zhiyi  (if i know the media outlet's email i would spam them with COOL STORY BRO!)

i think zhang linpeng might not get much playing time for Team China, might as well let the big fish benefit in the small pond first.

i have a hunch that zhang will be injured again before the game

22 is a bit old no? wouldnt it be better to have a u18-u20 system or do we have one already?

yes it is a bit old
but china wasnt expected to lose to oman (early elimination)

the u22 will be the backbone of team china, and those players need to play more to prepare themselves.

I agree with this. 3 years down the line, these U22 players should be at the peak of their careers. If China wants their NT to be competitive in the near future, it makes sense to start now and put a decent amount of effort into nurturing this group.

(Unless the CFA already has a secret underground hell-training camp for a team of genetically enhanced football super-kids that is ready for harvesting ;))

To be brutally honest, having a competitive league is far more beneficial to these players than a multi-year tour together.

But then again we are talking about Chinese football here, so something is better than nothing!

to be cynically honest, those young u-22 players don't even have much league playing time.

the uyghur kid maitijiang was kicked to the second team of luneng lol. hu rentian just found playing time only these few weeks. dong xuesheng did not have much opportunity to play in shanghai shenhua, he only has playing time when he was on loan in shenzhen ruby. to be this in a nutcase, the u22 matches might offer more playing time to the kids than the league :(

i think CFA is going on the approach of not using as much Han-Chinese player, they are going for other ethnics within the boundary of China. this might be the reason why you are seeing more maitijiang and piao cheng types of players.

oh geez, so i dont follow the chinese league, why is this the case? is it politics or is it a case the older players are actually better? OR (and i hope this is NOT the reason) the young kids are lil bastards who act like they are the bomb when they are crap...?

generally most CFA teams use foreigners, which take around 4 out of 11 places.

i dunno for other cases, i know that the ex-shandong coach was pretty lousy and relegated maitijiang to the bench. wang tong, another promising shandong player doesn't find much time.

and probably the cronyism of most chinese clubs lol.

finally an update for this thing:

so before camacho went to spain for holiday, CFA asked him if he was interested in coaching the U-22 team. it was rumoured that camacho agreed to do so.

now with his holiday finished, the CFA approached him again, camacho declined to do so, news said he was expected a wage-increase if he do so. CFA was unhappy with it, and allocated the job to Li Bing (assistant to former Olympics coach).

Interesting to see so many players from the China league, hopefully Fu Bo can replicate Gao Hongbo´s success in finding lesser known talents.

All is set for the Malawi national team to start camp for the China trip but Football Association of Malawi(Fam) says it is waiting for government's nod to assemble the team.

Coach Kinnah Phiri has already submitted the squad of local players which he will assess before the trip set for next week.

The coach said the squad comprises mainly local players but he was hoping to include some professional players that were idle.

"China invited Malawi for an all-paid for three-week camp during which they would play Chinese clubs before facing the hosts' national team."

Seems that they expect to meet the NT , not U22 ?

i think Chinese Football Association will only offer U-22.
U-22 is China's main focus for this year, and they would want Malawi team (regardless if it is full Malawi team or Malawi youth) to train with the U-22 first.
