General thread for Spurs related Euro news. Seems poor Christian Eriksen collapsed during the match against Finland. He’s apparently conscious at the hospital now thankfully.
I see Toby in central defense for Belgium and wonder how the eff he was so many times benched with us in favour of Dier and Sanchez.
Just saw the clip of that. Holy shit. From the clip it looks like he had a breathing problem. Very glad he is okay.
Really relieved when that photo came out of him conscious as he was being taken out. Until then, I'm just watching and thinking, quite literally, that he might be dead as I sit here. Incredibly unnerving stuff, that was. Hopefully a full recovery is on slate, whether that means more football or not. Hearing they have him stabilized couldn't be better news.
Eriksen's heart stopped on the field and CPR was necessary to revive him. So similar to Muamba. So fortunate that he was ably treated quickly.
I only caught the second half, but I thought Harry looked off. Maybe it was the heat, maybe the contract stuff is weighing on him.
Likewise. When he dinged himself, I thought that should have been a goal. Seemed a surprisingly poor shot.
The longer the heart is stopped, blood is not flowing to the muscles of the heart, so without oxygen they will die. (Not a doctor)
Even if not stopped (my heart didn't stop), the longer the blood flow to a particular area of the heart muscle is stopped due to a blockage, the muscle served by that vessel dies. More time, more muscle dies.
Rodon earning plaudits for his play in the win over Turkey. And Bale, of course, but he's not really our player is he. Hoping for better from Kane tomorrow.
Kane must be wondering what the ******** is going on at his club and can I get the hell out of there before Daniel Levy burns the whole place down.
Harry again look out of sorts. Reminding me of some the CL final and some of those end of season stretches when he was clearly dead on his feet.
True, but today I fault Southgate as much as Kane. There was absolutely not desire for inventiveness or to push forward. Plus both Foden and Mount were horrible, particularly Foden.
The last World Cup seems so far away now and such a clear outlier over the last 25-30 years. The one tournament the team were clicking, expectations were … well at least not absurd by the press and fans, England actually won a penalty shoot out. I guess there was Euro 96 too.
What is amazing is there is a shit ton of talent out there. Grealish came off the bench FFS. He would definitely start for 16 of the 24, possibly even 19 of the 24. You know what's funny about them? I wasted the US Summer Series US women's games, and after watching England today, I felt both the US women and England men played the same uninspired tactics despite having loads of talent.
Kane is simply dead on his feet - too much football, playing in too many meaningless international friendlies.
Belgium sees off Portugal in a tense, sometimes tetchy, 1-0 affair, in which both deBruyne and E Hazard came off injured. They'll have to be a bit better than today if they expect to get past Italy.
