You've got to feel sorry for Wood, absolutely worked his ass off to get fit for this series, only for his body to let him down again. For this own sake he should take the money on the franchise circuit now.
Yeah, he's a really nice guy as well so it's doubly disappointing. Maybe coining in some cash before he inevitably moves into the media is his best option.
You can only wonder what might of happened if Khawaja wasn't injured in the first test. Head doesn't open and take the game away, and it could have been a completely different outcome.
With both Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton nominated for Sports Personality of the Year Rory McIlroy feels like the strong favourite now. Through F1’s drivers have history of being good at getting voted for while Golfers has struggled to get votes in the past means I wouldn’t be shocked if Lando Norris or one of the Lionesses beat him.
Shouldn’t Rory be under the International banner? I know he’s born in Northern Ireland but doesn’t he represent the Republic? I know he does for the Olympics.
They've had Frankie Dettori (Italy) and Barry Briggs (New Zealand) finish in the top 3 before. McIlroy plays under the Northern Ireland banner when playing individually - it's only for the Olympics he represents Ireland.
Mark Cavendish won as well and he has typically represented the Isle of Man, which is not part of the UK.
Wasn’t that only at the Commonwealth games. I am sure he had a UK flag by his name on graphics for all tour events. British Cycling covers the crown dependencies.
Yeah there’s nuances within the rules, I presumed you had to represent the UK since there’s an International award even though I’ve not watched it for years but seem to remember an International one. Seems like as long as you reside in the Uk or participate a good portion of your sport in the UK you qualify.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/ckgdk7er29ko Headline - "Was McTominay unlucky to not get Spoty nomination?" I'm sorry, but if McTominay is even in the running then he's still miles behind Harry Kane. They've put up his goal involvements since 2023 for an award based on 2025.
With the BBC revealing their shortlist for this year's Sports Personality of the Year, who do the public think should win?Lando Norris: 16%Luke Littler: 10%Rory McIlroy: 6%Chloe Kelly: 6%Hannah Hampton: 3%Ellie Kildunne: 3% pic.twitter.com/I3UOhrlYLI— YouGov (@YouGov) December 11, 2025 So if You Gov is right Lando Norris will win with Luke Littler second.
The biggest hundred of his career so far 👏🦁Three more years of Asa Tribe the run machine 🌻🌻🌻#OhGlammyGlammy pic.twitter.com/amGFWnZHNz— Glamorgan Cricket (@GlamCricket) December 11, 2025 Another potential one for the future?
He looks promising, and he was outside of the county system for a lot of his youth (playing in Jersey) so was off the radar for a good while. He's certainly started his first class career well enough. Next year is a big one for him, with Glamorgan moving into the top division. Likewise Ben Kellaway.
Luke Littler is planning to snub BBC's Sports Personality of the Year pageant next week to concentrate on his £1m crusade - Daily Express.
⬅️ Gus Atkinson➡️ Josh TongueWe've made one change to our starting XI for the third Test in Adelaide 📋— England Cricket (@englandcricket) December 15, 2025 Atkinson out, Tongue in.
Don't have much of an issue to be honest, This top seven for better or worse is about as good as we have (Pope is the only one I would have considered dropping). Bashir's absence is annoying only because they persevere with him for so long (for seemingly no reason). Probably would have swapped Potts for Carse also.
Potts would have made sense, but we've seen little of that. He's a workhorse and generally accurate. Pretty much what the Aussies got from Neser.
Congratulations to Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Linsey Smith and Nat Sciver-Brunt who return as WBBL champions! 👏 pic.twitter.com/kil7fDlgQX— England Cricket (@englandcricket) December 15, 2025
Let’s wait until we bat I guess but already hearing the ex pros on TNT saying the wicket is flat but let’s see how flat it is when Cummins and Starc manage to make things happen on that flat pitch.
