To be fair, he wasn't going to give Freeman a yellow for tackling in the air (feels like the TMO intervened there), so it's not all one way. But, yeah, deliberate knock on in the 22 is normally an automatic yellow.
Some dodgy forward passes which seem to get missed, mind you they do look tight but in the build up to that try BBL looked to have passed forward to me.
Bordeaux just too strong in the end, but Northampton did themselves proud. Don't forget, it's 8th in the Premiership vs 2nd in the Top 14. Bordeaux have world class players across their backs - Lucu is unfortunate to play at the same time as Dupont, both wingers are outstanding, and Jalibert is a little magician - and an incredibly powerful pack. Northampton kept them in check for large periods, and gave as good as they got for a good chunk of the match.
Northampton did well and at least avoided being thrashed Five consecutive wins for French coups. France are very much the Powerhouse of European rugby now and that is probably going continue the way Rugby there is growing and has the potential to overtake football as France’s most popular sport.
Anyone see Moses Itauma last night? I can’t decide if he’s a genuine freak of nature or he’s just faced really bad fighters so looks really good? For me, he moves like a middleweight but hits like a heavyweight, just looks so god damn fast with brute force to add. He needs to face some decent fighter next though before the hype gets really real so a fight against someone like Martin Bakole could be interesting.
He’s very talented but needs some durable quality fighters before someone like Bakole imo. Hard to plan a path for him though because he can take people out very early rather than get some rounds under the belt.
England could play seven home Tests in 2027, the highest number in a summer since 2022, under plans being considered by the England and Wales Cricket Board. (Telegraph)
Brooks first one day line up. England Men's XI: 1. Ben Duckett 2. Jamie Smith 3. Joe Root 4. Harry Brook (C) 5. Jos Buttler (WK) 6. Jacob Bethell 7. Will Jacks 8. Jamie Overton 9. Brydon Carse 10. Saqib Mahmood 11. Adil Rashid
Should be topping 400 here - 375 with over three overs left. Bethell with a shot at a century. I like the batting lineup - established bats down to #7, and both Overton and Carse can hit a long ball. Only real question is whether Root/Jacks is a good enough 5th bowler option against the better teams, and if these are the optimal 3 quicks
Dead on 400 with 4 byes off the last ball. 28th highest ODI score of all time. Doubt anyone will be disappointed with that, even though the rate petered out in the last couple of overs.
I wonder where it is on the list of innings with no centuries? I imagine most of the 27th above have at least one player getting 100.
Yes, was just looking at that. It's the highest ODI score without a century. 392/6 from South Africa was the previous high.
The eye test suggests Bethell is much more suited to Australian conditions than Pope, I'd look to play him in one or 2 tests against India, because I think he'll be needed for the Ashes.
Lions vs India A at Canterbury looks like it's being played on a road. Almost 1000 runs with only 15 wickets falling. Not sure what anyone gains from this, other than batting practice.
