Freeman punched twice. On the floor by Carreras and then by Albernoz.

One of the punches directly in front of the ref and he still did nothing.

I missed this, was watching on my phone so wasn’t always the best. Heard there was some trouble after the game as well with the usual Argentine antics and not accepting the result. Horrible teams…

Stokes with a match winning century in the ODI cup on his first match for Durham since retiring from internationals.

Worse possible time for the EDB to have an ashes without a Nothern test. Could cause issues for the sport going forward.

They did the same with the Ashes in 2015. No excuse for Southampton over Manchester, Leeds or even Durham.
The very least they could have done was to have the single Bangladesh test in the North.

Supposedly Lords has a binding contract for two tests a year with no way to buy them out of it. ECB might find they need to review how they do deals with the grounds.

The pitch at Lords needs serious work doing on it. It's not been fit for purpose for a while now.

Maybe they will do it in 2028 which like 2024 is a less important year before India come in 2029 and in 2030 the T20 World Cup is held.

They need to do it soon. What was said after the New Zealand test there was that it would take 2 years to sort. Given these types of things never run to time, after next summer is the absolute latest to do it before the 2030 World Cup.

England v Australia tests could be held in India.

Would they really be popular there. Their own tests don’t do great!

The fear seems to be that will push him to retire earlier after burning out.

A good start for England in the Netball at the Commonwelah Games with a 83-34 thrashing of Northern Ireland.

I’m not sure how I would have coped if I didn’t hear about this result.

Netball has been mentioned on here before so I thought it would give it a mention. For Netball the Commonwealth Games is still its biggest event even ahead of its World Cup.

Luke Littler broke Phil Taylor's World Matchplay tournament average record, averaging over 111 for the entire week and hitting 66 maximums along the way (another record).
He's won all 4 ranking events this year, with 4 remaining.
    He's still a teenager.

He's already 3rd of all time in televised PDC Major titles, although he's a decent way to go get past MVG and Phil Taylor in 2nd and 1st. He already has 6 televised 9 dart finishes. Phil Taylor is 1st in televised 9 dart finishes with 11. Phil Taylor retired age 57!

The other amazing stat is that the gap between him and Luke Humphries in 2nd place in the order of merit is more than twice as big as the gap between Humphries and someone who doesn't even play darts.

I'd expect him to pass MVG, but getting past Taylor will require a level of dedication I'm not sure is part of Littler's make up. You never know, though - Anderson and Wright are both still in the mix in their mid 50s, although clearly nowhere near their peak abilities. If Littler played until he was 45, he'd need to win the World Title every other year to match Taylor.

What's remarkable about Taylor is not just the longevity but that he only started playing in the BDO at 27, and in the PDC at 32 when it was founded. Maybe that worked to his advantage - he was already married with kids when he turned pro, so didn't have the same path as other , younger players.

Watching the Commonwealth games and seeing the ‘Welsh’ and ‘Scottish’ athletes talk with English accents is bonkers.

Lots of empty seats at most games in The Hundred.
Meanwhile, counties are selling out their 50 over cup games by playing at outgrounds despite the majority of the stars playing the kid's tournament.

Looks like Stephen Fleming will be the new England Test Coach.
Most of his coaching has been in franchise cricket, but he was always recognised as an outstanding captain and leader as a player.

My guess is the new owners will cause a lot of issues in the coming years. ECB is now financially tied to the Hundred and has a lot of clauses which can cause major issues for it.

Rumour is the 50 over cup will move elsewhere in the season.

Root is going to retire after the Ashes I suspect. Year as captain then hand over to Brook.

Excellent spin to justify him not doing the Pakistan series through. How much preparation for South Africa can he really do in September when he comes over?
