Bumrah and the difference in catching in key moments I would say. Great game though and we got pretty close at one point to chasing a wild total. Not sure why Overton came in over Archer or Rashid.
Bethell is going to be so important if we do ever win anything important in the next decade. Do wonder how Brook is going to cope as his dropped catch and low score will be blamed by some in the media and on social media. (Plenty in media have a often damaging habit of holding a grudge when they feel someone has lied or disrespected them)
Overton with a crap cameo there especially the last ball of 19th, almost pulled it off. Not a fan of Indian pitches for T20 not enough in it for the bowlers and silly boundary sizes
Surely they needs to a review about why nobody is coming through to replace him. It’s always concerning when a key part of a team is in the twilight of their career and nobody is ready to replace them.
We also got the batting line up wrong. Curran is not an international 7, unless your top order is elite and all firing, let alone a 6. He struggled massively with scoring shots. An extra good bat in there at 6/7 and that's a major difference in the threat level.
He's our best ever white ball bowler, what type review do you want? Those types of players don't grow on trees.
True but having to have a 33 year old in what is normally a fairly young Lions set up does show they are major issues,
Dawson bowled one over and was dropped down the order. I know hindsight is 20/20, but he could easily have been left out for Ahmed.
Well we have 21 year old in this squad who they are grooming, you think India have another Bumrah ready to go after he retires?
They answer is they don't, just like England don't with Rashid, you don't need a review into why there isn't a ready made bowler to replace one of your best ever bowlers!
One thing that is good about cricket is how long and detailed post match interviews last even in defeat. McCullum not sure if the ECB will sack him or not. Normally when someone says I want to stay but it’s not up to me they often don’t survive. Nasser Hussain now suggesting Stokes and McCullum might have fallen out during the Ashes. 8 white ball matches against India in the summer. Aim is surely to win at least 4 of those.

Fortunately I couldn’t see the game, probably a good thing considering how it went but at least my prediction came to pass that we would probably lose the game……..Borthwick out!!
The media kept talking post Scotland and Ireland like they were defeats that came as part of a learning process for a building team, but it's hard to see exactly what's being built. The problem for a coach like Borthwick is that his style priorities effectiveness over everything else, and the team look the complete opposite of effective. They're blunt going forward and soft at the back. What's left at that point?
They look like something is badly wrong behind the scenes. Compared to the last couple of years when they look untied and happy and now they look as if they all hate each other.
We have no way of knowing exactly what it is but it's very hard to see how this is a project that's moving in a positive direction. We know full well that Borthwick won't face any consequences even if (when) we get tonked by France.
It reminds me a lot of when Lancaster was manager and England's horrible performances were continually excused by the pundits as some process and learning experience...for 4 years.....culminating in the disastrous 2015 world cup. Then when Jones took over the side instantly looked ten times better with a good coach. Almost exactly the same record as Borthwick too. For the toxic negativity the football team has historically had the rugby team has often suffered from a opposite and similar delusional positivity excusing the inexcusable.
