100 off 33 balls from Finn Allen with only 4 dot balls. The joint 10th fastest in T20 history, and the fastest T20 international century against a major nation.

South African’s look shell shocked. Maybe too overconfident. Bit odd considering the toss was quite important.

South Africa's ability to self destructive in cricket world cups remains undefeated. Their cricket side never winning a world cup in either format, indeed only ever making one final (and that was the last T20 world cup) is a very compelling case to make them the greatest underachiever in sport, relative to the talent they've had.

Although they are the current World Test Champions. They've been outstanding at tests recently, even though they play noticeably fewer games than England, Australia and India.

Not sure the ECB actually seems to want Cricket to grow with its opposition to Day Night tests. They need as much playing time in as better hours as possible to get as much attention as possible.

Some of our fielding has been embarrassing in this tournament. FFS!

This is carnage. Not quite Finn Allen carnage, but still carnage.

India wickets so much more batting friendly. Hopefully they can drag it back with some wicket in the second half.

Surely McCullum and Brook both need to be sacked for this. Just have a rotating captaincy and a strong coach (Same for the tests once Stokes goes)

At least wait for the match to conclude.

Every time I see a replay of that Brook dropped catch I am still expecting him to catch it :ROFLMAO:

Nothing to lose here. Going out swinging lads!
Should be entertaining or over as a contest after about six overs.

I wonder if that was Rashid’s last ever bowl in international cricket. If a new coach comes in a total clear out of the older guard in both T20’s and ODI)’s feels likely,

Particularly Butler whose has such good career for England but is likely batting for the last ever time.

If Rashid wants to continue why would they do that, he's still clearly Englands best spinner, and likely will be for a few years

Because they might feel a new broom is needed after this messy tournament and horrific performance.

Feels like Brook’s performance today has been a huge shame. Dropped catches and now out for 7.

Stop with the nonsense. How is a potential semi-final loss going to result in mass change?

Like with football you always claim numerous options will be moved on but never offer any realistic alternatives.

Rashid will stop playing for England on his terms. He's our best bowler, and been ranked in the top 5 T20i bowlers for a long time. There's nobody coming up to replace him - they called up a 33 year old T20 only leggie to the last Lions squad, which highlights the lack of options that we have.
His future will depend on whether he wants to primarily play for England or on the franchise circuit.

I don't know what this even means, why would they get rid of England best spinner, if he still wanted to continue.

Completely agree, and there is quite a lot of precedent for wrist spinners to go on into their 40s.

It is hilarious how a few sixes can completely kill the atmosphere. Such a wild format of the game. Bethell is hitting things cleanly.

That's a massive wicket. Bethell and Jacks were getting set nicely for a late blast.
