Man, I'm about 2/3 of the way through and there have been a couple stories that had me tearing up. Particularly the ones about his debut, not being able to get a ride to training, and the incident where he got caught stealing boots from the first team locker room. It's really sad to see his lack of self belief, I don't think he ever really thought he would make it. He certainly didn't do himself any favors but we really let him down.
So Zlatan is part of the 'stay in your lane and shut up' brigade? How disappointing... Zlatan Ibrahimovic says famous people like athletes should stay out of politics.(via @dplus_sportSE)pic.twitter.com/mtxYJAjNiF— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) February 25, 2021

TFM has suffered another ACL tear, to his other knee this time. Feel for the guy, but we were definitely right to let him go. https://www.unitedinfocus.com/news/timothy-fosu-mensah-suffers-more-cruel-luck-after-united-exit/
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss UEL first leg against Manchester United at Old Trafford due to a muscular injury.— Francesco Porzio (@fraporzio95) March 1, 2021
Zlatan had to come off from yesterday's game having pulled a muscle. Whether it's a hamstring, groin or otherwise, it will, in all likelihood, take him out of action for a couple of weeks minimum. Depending on the severity of it, could easily be 3wks to a month. Perhaps more...' Edit: It's an abductor injury. Gianluca Di Marzio :: Milan, Ibrahimovic set to miss three weeks with muscular injury

Love the cool nuggets of information you get from these interviews. The one I found very interesting was SAF preventing Ruud from winning the Golden Boot for the 2001-02 season, by taking him out of the squad completely for the final game of the season. Didn't win any trophies as a team that season and the Boss wanted to send a clear message to everyone, including Ruud. Came back the following season and beat his goal total (both in the league and overall) and we got the league back. The real 'mentality monsters' right there.
It's all a matter of perspective imo. We were a different team back then and that season, not only did we achieve our lowest finish in the league in over 10yrs, but we didn't win a single trophy to boot. Despite going to the CL semis that season, this was considered a mediocre season for us. Might be cold on some level, but there is no doubt that the message was received loud and clear, not just by Ruud but to the whole team in general. And when it's all said and done, it worked: can't really argue with the methods, if they end up paying off in the end...
Worth watching the vid (is around 24th minute in) and RVN takeaway from that - specifically he says watching the last game of the season from the stands left him more motivated for the new season and made it clear that he had to connect his goals with titles - as that was the nature of the new club he had moved to. For me it shows the main thing that made SAF different - specifically his ability to read what will push different players buttons (his management style clearly changes with different personality types) and ultimately keep them focussed on their performance levels for the team.
Got around to seeing the Vibe with 5 with Ravel on and it was madness. He was on one of those last chance you backstories while playing for a massive club. Seemed when the one youth coach moved on he lost a key shepherd. I can't believe he didnt have a consistent way to get back. I really hope he does manage to play for Jamaica and help them to a WC. Something hold onto in this crazy life he has had.
Imagine playing for Manchester United and you cant get to training. Like not one player volunteered? A lot of people on this forum have continually shat on him and berate him because of shit they read. This kid was clearly different and had issues. Listening to that and also hearing Rio admit the club let him down, makes me sad. But this is the business.
The part where the guy quoted Brian McClair and said "who brings him to training?" Struck as something to keep in my mind when I become a rugby admin again.
Ole mentioned he wouldn't have let Evans leave: "It is what it is, football sometimes takes you elsewhere. I'm sure he has feelings for United and they are mutual. It's a pleasure to see him play as well as he is" Solskjaer dit qu'il n'aurait pas laissé partir Evans : "C'est comme ça, le football vous emmène parfois ailleurs. Je suis sûr qu'il a des sentiments pour Manchester United et que c'est réciproque. C'est un plaisir de le voir jouer aussi bien qu'il le fait." #MUFC pic.twitter.com/22Tvizjbpr— Manchester United (@MUnitedFR) March 20, 2021
