Gomes headed to Ligue Un? ⚽ Le Losc espère finaliser l'arrivée d'Angel Gomes (5 matches de championnat, milieu offensif de 19 ans), en fin de contrat avec Manchester United.— RMC Sport (@RMCsport) July 27, 2020 Actually think it would be a very good move for him, in terms of the next stage of his career and development. Good club for him to join as well, if it happens, with many quality young players already there. It's a league where his technical abilities would come to the fore and he definitely could flourish there.
Very interesting move, if it goes through. Lille strikes me as a club that has always done well to bring younger players through. They've got a good mix right now with Soumare, Weah, Renato Sanches, and now Gomes. Potentially Alfredo Morelos to follow from Rangers.
Lilles are following the Dortmund model of sorts, where they're keen on getting talented young players and eventually flip them at huge profit. Campos is a talented technical director who knows how to spot talent and as a club they generally play a good brand of football. If it goes thru, Gomes couldn't ask for a better destination. I hope he does extremely well in France.
2 clubs he'd have little to no chance at serious playing time (the reason he left United I might add), unlike a club like Lilles. Regardless, it's the sensible option for him at this time provided this deal goes thru...
What happened to the last guy who went to Belgium and then moved to Spurs to circumvent the tribunal, what was his name, played LB.
“I’m scared to even look up my direct messages anymore. It could be filled with anything.”@wilfriedzaha tells @MirrorDarren that he was left shocked after a 12-year-old boy sent him a KKK image on Instagram. 👉 https://t.co/ez4zpfBuUB pic.twitter.com/BBlGoicg0C— CNN Football (@CNNFC) July 29, 2020 I know he's been 'arrested', but I'm genuinely curious as to what happened beyond that to the kid who sent those hateful messages to Zaha (and apparently others as well).
Gribbin back in football. ⚠️ BREAKING NEWS ⚠️We are delighted to announce the signing of highly talented midfielder Callum Gribbin! 🙌The former Manchester United academy star joins us on a one year deal, with a further year option.📸 - Manchester United #BarrowAFC#BackTheBluebirds pic.twitter.com/qseJH34zOu— Barrow AFC (@BarrowAFC) August 2, 2020 It's all the way down in the 4th tier in League 2 but I suppose it's good he's getting to play football professionally again. Wishing him the best of luck and if he can hold up physically, then who knows how far he can work his way back up.
Gomes officially says goodbye to Manchester United. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDeKjSzJa1z/ Been confirmed that he's signing for Lille but is going out on loan right away to Boavista for the season.
Certainly does not as far as I'm concerned: still very young and the fact is, players develop at different rates. If anything, Lille are showing exactly how to handle a highly touted talent like him who may not be completely ready to compete for a place on their team as of yet, by promptly sending him out on loan. Something we should have done ourselves at some point in the last 2 seasons. Still no guarantee he would have made it of course, but at minimum we should have done more given the nature of the talent on hand.
Scored again a few minutes later, a beautiful curler - and his trademark flip celebration. He is playing on the left.
