That was van Basten. A deadly striker but he was stylish at the same time, with many of his goals simply beautiful to look at. And in the same way injuries hindered Brazilian Ronaldo's career, the same applied to van Basten (even worst actually since his numerous ankle injuries forced him to retire when he was in his prime). And although they were different, in my opinion at their best they're the best strikers/CFs I've seen.
This is for me, right? Rooney's is the type of stuff you hit in training. It is audacious, yeah. But he had space and the whole of the net to hit. You hit it with force and hope for the best. Berba's was the type of thing that someone his height, at the angle that he hits it, the ball should not have traveled like that. I was positively amazed that the ball would be able to go in from such an angle. It is the delicateness of the shot. It is the type of thing you could barely hit if you were throwing the ball over your shoulder after having a look at the net.
You do know what an apex is right? The ball was practically suspended in the air. Rooney’s was moving sideways. It doesn’t make sense that you’d think Berbatov’s was harder to hit.
anyone sharing that view. i just can't agree with it. Rooney was in mid air and he had to get everything right to even make any meaningful contact. Berba was in full control and was able to set it to the height he wanted. to me if both were tried 100 times i know which one i would pick to be recreated more often
 I didn’t say it was harder to hit. Of course Berba controlling the ball was going to give him a better opportunity of striking the ball the way he wanted to. It was the way he struck it and the other variables I mentioned above. And I’m good if y’all think it is stupid.
On the RRT trio wasnt the issue that Tevez had a weird owned hy bgg agent/company contract that made re-signing complicated? Or am I missremembering
That is correct but it really wasn't the reason he didn't sign a new contract. He just turned United down. The club tried its hardest to get him to agree to a new deal: they were ready to pay his release clause and were ready to make him one of the highest paid players at the club at the time. But in the end, he just snubbed United and went with City. Nothing more that the club could have done there tbh.
which required significant readjustment. he basically had to turn back to get it and he also hit it at the peak of his leap/contortion. he could have easily missed it all together. the significance of the goal doesn't diminish its technical difficulty. i just don't see how Berbatov's is trickier. they're both special goals though in every sense

Just went through the thread and did not see the Berba's goal that is being referenced. Anyone have a quick link to it?
