What made the Yorke-Cole partnership so special. https://www.skysports.com/football/...nchester-united-strike-partnership-so-special Might have been 'sexier' partnerships (from a name/reputation standpoint) in Prem history, but you'd really be hard pressed to find a strike duo that were better in terms of the chemistry and natural understanding between. As soon as Yorke arrived, those 2 looked like they had been playing together for years Looking just at United, the partnership of Tevez and Rooney from 07 to 09, was superb also but you can't really talk about those 2 without mentioning Ronaldo, as he really was the focal point of our attack back then.
Tevez, Rooney, and Ronaldo would have ruled Europe if given the time. Pity Fergie had to go out and ruin it with the purchase of Berbatov.

Kiko Macheda interview. On the anniversary of his unforgettable (and superb) goal vs Villa 11yrs ago. Still get goosebumps over this all these years later. Would love to be able to watch the full match.
One of my all-time favorite United goals. Think I've only celebrated as much after Landon Donovan's goal vs. Algeria and after we won the CL in 2008.
Tbh my memory is shit. Fantastic goal, and so vital too. But I don't remember where I was while watching that game. The others I can still picture so vividly.
Some other goals that come to mind just in terms of leaving an imprint in my memory: - Hargreaves' free kick vs Arsenal in the CL - Ronaldo's screamer vs Porto - Ronaldo's header vs Chelsea in the CL - Wazza's bicycle vs City - Welbeck's screamer vs Stoke - those two counter attack goals vs Arsenal (was it Park, Wazza, and Ronaldo...?)
I don't see anything wrong with being self-aware. The Berba assist to Ronaldo vs West Ham is also up there
The Berba assist is one of my favorite goals of all time. To pull of something so difficult and unexpected with such ease is why Berba will always be one of my all time favorite players.
I like Dimi and all but I still feel the club would have been more successful if they did not buy him and invest in the Rooney-Ronaldo-Tevez trio. And I still feel his bicycle kick v Pool was trickier than Rooney's vs City.
Berba definitely did not fit the clubs style at the time. I think SAF was in constant search of his next Cantona and saw Berba as that type. But all he did was slow down the attack. Still, he was a great player.
Perhaps from a standpoint of difficulty, Berba's bicycle kick vs Pool was more impressive. But Rooney's was simply spectacular. Interesting to note that the one vs Pool is the one that is most remembered from Berbatov but he had at least a couple of other bicycle/scissor kicks while at United that were better as far as I'm concerned. On the subject of bicycle kicks, the award for the best as far as I'm concerned goes to... Everything about it is close to perfection. So clean, powerful enough and simply beautiful.
