here is some news to begin with. arjen robben and wilfred bouma have just been called up. bouma because fdb has a slight thigh injury (oh well) and stam is suspended =\
i was happy to see robben called up, but it means overmars will most likely be out. a quote says that overmars was unimpressive. i dont agree, am i being biased? but as much as i enjoy and like marc, i know robben is awesome and it will be better to start bringing in youngsters.
the only question i have is...if dickie is smart enough to realize marc overmars isnt good enough (which i dont agree with-lol), why cant he see that a player like zenden is trash and bring in someone new and young?

i think overmars was ok, but he can do better - i sincerely don't believe robben will start but he is definitely a sub if we still need a goal at the hour - bouma i am delighted to see and i expect him to start - oh and advocaat is an idiot, i'd rather have steve hog managing HOLLAND

    i insist in this lineup!!!

    .............van der saar
    ........reiziger..........FDB
    bosvelt.......................bouma
    .............davids/cocu
    ....VDM...................overmars
    ..................VDV
    ..........ruud..........makaay

again, seriously just shut the faack up and stop dissing my boy dog. he doesnt actually pay for sex, i guess you could say he indirectly pays for it. he pays for a SERVICE which could provide him with sex, not for the actual sex lol
plus he is NASL legend, he could play for the Dutch side himself when things went bad.

    Stam Being Out

is huge. Now there's nobody to keep McFadden and Dickov in check, they'll beat de Boer on counters. Hopefully Reiziger can make up for Jaap's absense in part but I'm not holding my breathe.

    I'd say it's 75/25 Scotland advances.

Im really starting to dislike the National team, Ive hated Davids and Seedorf already for a while but for godsake start playing with passion! I’ve seen Latvia playing against the Turks and woaw I wish I was Latvian. The only place for a Dutchie to show some nationalistic feelings with out being referred to as a Nazi is in football, but cant we even do that nowadays?

    I want a big cleanout:
    Zoetebier (Feyenoord)
Stam(Lazio), De Jong (Ajax), Ooier(PSV), Vrede (Groningen)

Van der Meyden (Inter), Van den Vaart(Ajax) , Robben (PSV), Sneijder (Ajax), van Galen (AZ)

    Makaay (Bayern)

Wow, do you really want to start Zoetebier? Or could you not think of any other goalie to play? Feyenoord fans don't want him starting for us, why would he been any good for your national team?

van Persie isn't doing so great, but that also has something to do with the coach not giving him the confidence by letting him play: not much you can do to prove yourself if you're only allowed to play 15 minutes or so. Plus the coach not starting him has probably more to do with the club not letting him start untill he signs a new contract, than with his abilities.

New media broohaha over here: 10 players of the national team went to a house party (which unlike in America isn't a party in a house, but a party in a hall :D ) the day after the Scotland game. Reports claim this was Kluivert's idea, but players like van der Vaart and vd Meyde also went to the party; so if Dick uses this as an excuse to bench Kluivert when he'll most likely select Raphael and Andy anyway, he's a bigger piece of shít than I already thought.

    Since we're sharing starting line-ups:

    ...................Gentenaar.....................
    Reiziger......Hofland...Bouma....Boschaart
    vd Meyde......vd Vaart...Davids...Robben
    ................Kluivert....Makaay...............

No real reason for changing vd Sar, because he hasn't done anything bad or something, but he just looks like a pansy: he won't be giving the players of the opposing side any awe, just more confidence that they're able to score. :D (i.e. vd Sar would start if I took this seriously, but I'd definitely have selected Gentenaar as the 3rd or more likely 2nd goalie)

Boschaart should have been selected, if he plays exactly the same way he does now at Utrecht, but at a 'bigger' club, he would suddenly be good enough for the Dutch team? He's good, it doesn't matter that he plays for Utrecht. At least van Gaal would give players like this a real chance, which is more than one could say for Advocaat.

    van overrato on the bench.....duh.

    In that case...

It it was really PK's idea there had to be some strippers involved. I'd love to have a guy like PK on my team, wouldn't ya?

I wish I was that optimistic. I would say it is at least that much the other way (75%+ chance of Holland going through). If I had to make a score prediciton, 3-0 to your lot.

    I say this because:

    1) some of our players played extremely well on Saturday - particularly Wilkie. If he plays this well again I will be staggered.

    2) we had very little possession in the second half on Saturday. At half time possession was approx. 50% each, but by full time it was 65-35 for Holland, so we only had 20% possession in the second half. That meant a lot of chasing down the (Dutch) player in possession, which will reduce our energy levels for this game.

    3) We have a fairly young team (lack of experience and age) and I don't think they will have the tactical knowledge to know what to do in certain situations. (ie keep possession early and take the heat out of the game).

    4) Dailly's suspension is significant. He can play in more than one position (as shown on Saturday), is our most experienced player and is a leader of the team - which we need, as Ferguson is not a proper captain (he is only captain because he is certain to playa and Lambert is injured).

    5) we have very little depth in some areas. McFadden and Dickov are doing well, but our other forward options are unappealing (Miller is unfit, Hutchison is past it and the rest are mediocre). The next best option is probably to play McCann up and Pearson in midfield.

Our best hope is to have a slight control of the game in the first 30 minutes and score first (exactly like Saturday's match, in fact). This would then allow us to defend for the remaining sixty minutes with a degree of comfort. If we don't score we are doomed (cannot see it finishing 0-0), and the longer it goes I think we are less likely to score because our team will tire.

I hope we pull off something similar to Hearts in Bordeux. Defend well and hope for some luck! I just hope Holland get frustrated and lose concentration. Of course they have better players than us so it is the best we can hope to do.

May the best (or more accurately the most defence and lucky) team win!!!

I'd be more inclined to agree wiht you if we didn't have that moron Advocaat as coach. He will be outcoached in the 1st half, the Dutch players will get frustrated and at some point concede a bad goal. I still think it's 75/25 Scotland advance.
