Is it more hard or less hard than putting someone on ignore who does nothing but piss you off and then revel in your distress?

Only if Elon is sending them. That way there's a great chance they blow up on the pad.

Stayed at Ramon's while there. I think I liked Turneffe even more than the Blue Hole. I remember one pretty long and rough ride in a small boat that a couple people quite apparently didn't enjoy though.

We're friends with the guys at Ecologic who are just a pier or two down but have gone with Amigos for longer trips to Turneffe..

The Blue Hole is cool to check it off your list, but the two other dives we did later that day at Lighthouse were amazing (the Aquarium and I'm blanking on the name of the other one). And yeah, Turneffe is spectacular. I'm curious about that little resort that's there now.

The Blue Hole is a "been there-done that-got the t-shirt", kind of experience.

I used to know the previous owner. I want to say Lee was his last name. His son Colin Lee managed a store in Ft Lauderdale, Pineapple Scuba.

It was 2004 that I was there, so I'm sure a fair amount has changed. I think Turneffe just had some sort of research outpost from a university. I might even be mixing that piece up with another of the atolls...my memory doesn't always serve. I spent most of my non-diving time getting blasted with the chef from Cayo Espanto and smoking stuff from some dude who called himself Ras Jah or somesuch. I think he was hoping eventually I'd pass out and he'd be able to rob me.

I knew the owner of the saloon nearby. Met an unfortunate ending.

Stagger Lee met Billy, and they got down to gambling
Stagger Lee throwed seven, Billy said that he throwed eight, hey
So Billy said, "Hey Stagger, I′m gonna make my big attack
I'm gonna have to leave my knife in your back"

When we first started diving with them, 2011 or 2012 IIRC, the owner was some guy who split time between there and Houston, but I can't remember his name, so maybe that's the Lee person you're recalling. Then it was passed on to Kendall (and I'm blanking on his last name) but he's now working in Roatan. The guy who owns Ecologic now is a local named Germain. Really nice guy.

See, your friends should have just ignored politics and gone about their day. They would have been happier.

So, I went into a grocery store this afternoon, and -- no joke -- they were almost completely out of toilet paper.

Is there some calamity in the world that I missed?

Believe it or not, I literally spent the last hour filling up yet another 96-gallon green waste barrel with pine needles.

My 5th such barrel of the season. Probably around 10 more to go before this fire season is over.

I've got a lot of pine needles. :(
