This only works in certain circumstances and for certain purposes. Back in my old grad school days, teaching undergraduate humanities, I saw my primary job as teaching undergraduates how to think seriously and craft and edit top-notch essays. I didn't really care whether they "learned" the "material" they were assigned to write about. I always figured they'd forget everything they read within a short period of time. I wanted them to walk away from my class with the experience of thinking deeply and writing skillfully. They'd forever know what that felt like and looked like. A blue book essay doesn't accomplish that task. Blue books are to true essay writing as fast food is to fine dining. Both meals may be edible, but they aren't remotely the same. But it's 2025. People like me who care about the life of the mind are relics of a bygone era. And we're all doomed.
And did you have to prove there was no other computer device hiding under your desk or on your person? Because if you had another device, tab-locking doesn't prevent you from using other websites or programs. I was of the opinion that such technology disadvantaged the lower socio-economic students who might not have work-arounds. Another solution that disadvantages lower socio-economic students.
Just have the kids take their tests naked while locked in a giant faraday cage. If schools can do it on the same day as the mandatory gender enforcement examinations, we can kill two kids with one stone.
We're doomed! Doomed, I tell you! https://archive.is/20250525214435/h...c-party-voters.html#selection-5005.0-5005.428 Yes, let's study syntax! That's how the Dems will win back young men and save America!
I don’t post in this thread, so I might be wrong, but this thread seems the best place for this. if you’re feeling depressed and anxious, that’s not a sign of poor mental health necessarily. You might just be aware…woke, one might say. https://www.theguardian.com/wellnes.../22/hypernormalization-dysfunction-status-quo And here’s a shout out to an anthropologist @Sounders78 im trying to remember you’re an anthropologist not a sociologist right? Anyway, the Word of the Day is Hypernormalization https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEhR7_Rge95/?igsh=MWlzeDhxcDhjNmIwOQ== There’s an interesting analogy to 1990s era Soviet Union/Russia, where society was collapsing and Russia’s wealth was being looted by criminals, and yet politicians had no response.
The wood chipper employed for nefarious purposes [means no good] such as chopping the above person into little pieces in the film "FARGO" recently turned 30! I thought you'd like to know!
