The irony here of course is that the beaver voted for the Beaver Dam Demolition Party thinking it would only be those other beavers' dam over there that would get demolished
Gazos Creek State Beach Great spot when you're looking for a long beach walk (6.2 miles today) and really don't want to see anybody.
The speed at which we're devolving, this could be sooner than you think Chimps like "you ocean-crawling motherf'ers!" Professor Tim Coulson, a leading zoologist and biologist at the University of Oxford, suggested that octopuses could evolve into the next civilization-builders if humanity were to become extinct. He believes that octopuses' intelligence, adaptability, and unique abilities make them strong candidates to fill the ecological niche left by humans. https://m.jpost.com/science/science-around-the-world/article-829458
Science Fiction book, uses intelligence in octopi as a central plot point (also AI). Book was ok, thought the world the author built was better than the main storyline, basically wanted to know more about the world than cared about what happened to some characters!
Just about 20 min north of where I was yesterday, in Half Moon Bay. Mavericks is known for its giant waves. I recommend Sam's Chowder House if you're ever out this way and driving from San Fransisco to Santa Cruz along Hwy 1.
There's another SF author who has written books about non-human species picking up where humanity left off in the distant future - Adrian Tchaikovsky is the author. The books are Children of Time, Children of Ruin, and Children of Memory. The first one has intelligent spiders and the second one has intelligent octopi.
Could also be in the Wypipo thread because this is white AF. Geriatric Park City bicycledouche Gary Peacock gets up in young man's grill about not giving him enough space on the road. Cops were called and young dude's dashcam video shows he did nothing wrong.
Half Moon is where I used to hang out when visiting my grandparents, before they moved back to the Mormon Promised Land around 1990. That was unfortunate, but it was incredibly fortunate that they took in their gay son who had AIDS and cared for him until his death a couple of years later. I would never have gotten to know him (and Prince, David Bowie, Zappa, etc.......) so well if that hadn't been the case.
Great shots. Bandit and I do this most days. Clears my head and takes some of the need for him to pile his selected toys on my lap while I’m reading.
Wait... I'm sorry you lost your relative, but you didn't specifically need gay folks to intro you to any music. Plenty of folks of all sexualities listen to all of the above.
My take was more that his relative happened to have good taste in music that he was then exposed to, the gayness part wasn’t necessarily a factor.
I'd really like to drive to Park City and run that guy off the road for real. What a complete asshat -- and his absolute horseshit entitled biker attitude. FFS, you're not Lance Armstrong you pathetic punk.
Yeah, I could post pics of Cape Cod or some NH mountains. But the FACK YOUs & GET IN YA CAHs on a bright fall morning in Boston really warms my heart (NSFW unless you work in Bahston) https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19Uq9SokJx/
No license, no insurance, not interested in rules of the road. Left or right side, sidewalk will do. Yet they demand drivers give way to them. I’ve done a considerable amount of road riding, time trials I loved but in all walks of life there are arseholes.
When I listen to those artists, it reminds me of Sunday afternoons just listening to music with him and him telling us stories about following them around California. I still have his JBL tower speakers from then.
I didn't think about that, either. But how different is it? The Osmonds were big for a couple of years, and Donny and Marie managed to extend their careers in entertainment. Donny dropped an album about 15-20 years ago, IIRC.
At least in my youth, there were culturally acceptable musicians to listen to, and some that were over the line yet were too popular and tolerated. But in particular, musicians and art/media that really leaned into queer or occult culture (sorry for the Q) like Bowie, Zappa, KISS even, death metal, NIN, etc… were as taboo as gangster rap. It often wasn’t blatant shunning, but more a quiet ostracism and refusal to engage or invite participation from the individual beyond what was obligated. These things always bothered me. Hell, even The Simpson’s was shunned in our community when it came out. Too crude! That and Married With Children made Fox a ”bad” network. Except they played all those awesome movies on the weekends!
