Great article on FIFA's site today about El Diablo: http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=689884.html#the+devil+went+dc
Great article! Thanks for posting the link! ps-I didn't know he now lives in West Virginia? I was pretty sure he lives out in Loudoun County.
he and Jaime both live in Loudoun (not Loudon) .... I believe they are both out beyond Leesburg in the hill country (very nice area) ... they were always very accessible and gracious gentlemen (and still are). Jaime used to live right up the street from me ... his young son was of course always out in the yard practicing ... they were always having bbq's on the back deck with other players ... that was the same time Darrell Green's son (Jared) was playing soccer (before he got corrupted and became a football wide receiver). lots of Redskins live in the same area - hard to go to a kids sporting event in Loudoun and not run across these pro athletes and their kids ..... small world ... no Eastern Loudoun is not West Virginia
Wow great article, This picture's really touch my heart. Moments of joy with ex bolivian keeper and Midfielder Platini Sanchez. His sad reaction to his Red Card which was BS. The 2 greatest captains and IMO 2 members of the most dangerous midfield in MLS history.
My as yet undiagnosed obsessive/compulsive wife, Annette remarked: "Has anyone done the math here? According to the article, "his playing career ground to a halt at age 35," (which would be in 2003, right?) and then he's called (now in 2008) "the 37-year-old." Marco apparently got two years older over the past five years. But of course, we all know he's immortal..." See what I have to put up with. Matt
To many in the DC area, especially those who recoiled at the idea of a soccer stadium out there, Loudoun County is West Virginia.
