I bet we see those three playing together. Are you really going to play Santi instead of one of them?
If it's another season of your top 3 scorers being middies/wingers it's going to be another long season.
You can tell the crowd has gone from yelling at Santi, often with good reason, to trying to encourage him more and build up his confidence; the team definelty needs a striker and need him to come good, so we shall see if that approach works. Still, that decison/miss off of the slick Pulisic pass yesterday was really bad. Strikers have to put those away first time, instead of trying to dribble around the keeper just to get it on your preferred left foot.
From the times I have watched, it seems clear that Santi isn't at the AC Milan level, even with the current ACM
Many players find out their Peter principle and choke when rising above it. Has to be hard to scout / judge. How could you predict who won'y be up to a rise in level when they excelled just below?
Sure. there's just not the same type of common places (radio) to listen to popular (or paid for DJ's) music. It's spread so far and wide now. I'd prefer music that kind of fits what the player's groove in that game although I concede that would be mostly a personal opinion that most wouldn't agree with. I find fault with the music being laid back while soccer isn't really when a players is dominating. Be cool to use songs that go from soft to hard and sync it with the player's movement.
Pulisic is good. This thread title it ********ing awful. The form he was in against RM in the UCL Semis was world class. If he hadn't pulled his hammy who knows. It was also during Covid so it also might have just been a bit of a mirage, as we've seen with the teams that won during that time.
There's also this insane technological trick you can do where you hit "mute" and then play your own music while you watch: mind blowing!
The current title is very awkward and not nearly clever enough to me - why aren't we doing something more like one of these: Playing Devil's Attaccante - Christian Pulisic at AC Milan or Doing the Foot Work of the Devil - Christian Pulisic at AC Milan or something else more nifty than I can think of. Not sure if any of these were run up the flagpole before.
There were a lot of good suggestions along the way, but they're scattered, and I can't even remember mine. 'He goes to 11' was nice (and remains timely).
The thread title is a direct (translated courtesy of our friend @falvo) quote in praise of Puli straight outta Italy, for those who haven't been following. It's not some random made-up suggestion. I personally like it - and it's not even my suggestion
Turns 27 today, which is often considered the prime year of a player, although there are exceptions of course. Hope this is a great year for him, with success at AC Milan and with the USMNT at the WC. Not far from 30 now, thank god the US has tons of young guys coming up at his level or better, right? right?..........er.........right?
If he stays healthy he should be able to play well into his early 30s. These days with training, prehab, rehab, peds (legal and otherwise) you can remain explosive a few years longer, especially if you're dedicated to the lifestyle. Just stay healthy for the next 5-6 years and see where his career goes for club and country.
