Ezra has really shown his hands the last few days....His last interview with Ben Shapiro an openly Islamophobe and racist was disgraceful. I am done with him.

I think it was @Val who brought it up ages ago…

Sick of being asked for money. I’d rather show up.

I did maybe a dozen phone banks to help lobby in favor of Obamacare. Last one I "attended" was just me and the paid staffer. We made a few calls to other volunteers and went home.

Thankfully Trump is dumber than Schumer.

“Trump just said he's not going to meet with Democratic leaders — hours after agreeing to meet with them — to discuss avoiding a government shutdown.

The government shuts down in a week.”

Gonna grab some popcorn and see exactly how Schumer somehow manages to extricate himself from the uncomfortable position he finds himself where….checks notes….Trump ensures REPUBLICANS WILL OWN ANY SHUTDOWN. I know it will be difficult…but I have confidence in Schumer’s ability to miss a dunk on a 5 foot rim. I don’t know how he will ******** this up…but I am confident he will do everything within his power to do so.

Someone needs to lock Chuck Schumer in a dark room with no internet access for the next week to ten days.

Schumer is 100% going to vote yes for whatever Trump gives him and will strong arm every Democrat possible to do so as well.

And now your only response should be…oh yeah…well ******** you…no dem votes.

and…I too routinely let Jeffries off the hook for being an ineffective hack. Today he was interviewing saying something along the lines of “they have to talk to democrats…they need 60 votes”

If you’re seriously thinking of filibustering in the senate…Schumer is as dumb as I thought…and youre dumber than I thought. Want to own the shut down? Fillibuster it.

    Maybe. Probably even.

OTOH, Trump is incredibly unpopular by historical standards. Also, TACO. Also, it depends on what the ask is, and how Dems sell it. Also, Trump’s bottomless pit of narcissism means it’s not a sure thing Trump and/or voters won’t make it about him.

I wonder how successful a narrow strategy of making Trump give up all the blatantly illegal shit (the Supremes saying it’s legal doesn’t make it so) like unilaterally killing programs, illegally firing appointees and employees, etc. would be.

These are not good numbers for Democrats.

Democrats have to thank our luck that Trump is a crazy fvck that may help Democrats win in 2026.

I think a large part of the problem is that we all know what the Republican plan is for those, but do many people know the Democratic plan? One party has their platform talked about by the media non-stop, while the other party has trouble finding airtime.

The lack of leadership from Jeffries and Schumer is enough to drop both.

I don't think it's too tinhat to wonder how much pressure behind the scenes it is to limit them the opportunity to talk or cover the admin more. Given ownership and recent hires, it wouldn't even need to come from the White House either.

It wouldn’t be. At all. The difference is by making those demands public, and in advance, the message becomes “the Republicans had a choice between stopping all this awful shit and a shut down….and they chose shut down.” I am confident I know how the GOP will choose. Instead….Schumer and Jeffries have allowed Trump to message their demands. I don’t even know if he’s doing it accurately.

The second problem is that the public's understanding of all these issues are framed by a political media which takes its marching orders from disingenuous right-wing outrage.

Let's be honest, people are stupid.

Crime? Putting the military into cities is preferred?
Immigration? ICE kidnapping people off the street?
Foreign conflicts? Bow to Putin while punishing allies with tariffs?
US Economy? Fire the people that release negative info?
Corruption? Are you ********ing kidding me?
    Gun Control? None?
political extremism? Use the FCC to pressure networks to remove voices critical of the administration?

People are so ********ing stupid and it's hard to fight stupid.

We saw this in the last election, where a lot of 2020 Biden voters abandoned Harris in no small part because of what right-wing media and politicians told them she was saying rather than what she was actually saying.

It’s ominous, but that’s an oddly worded poll question. Others touched on that. And it contradicts other similar polling.

Stupid people have the same vote as smart people.

The question is how you get them to vote for you.

    Yeah, people are stupid.
